iOS 6 wifi connectivity - "page can't be found"

I just update to iOS 6 and am having an issue with wifi that isn't quite the same as what else I've been reading. My wifi network is there to choose, but when I select it and Log In screen pops up, but it simply leads to the Apple site with the headline "hmm, the page you're looking for can't be found." When I hit cancel, I'm not connected. I've already put in the password for my wifi network, so I have no idea why this is happening. Can anyone help?

Having the exact same problem. Cannot seem to find any way to get around this missing page.

Important to note: I'm joining a network that does not require log in. It appears the page Apple uses to check the internet connection has vanished, or else iOS 6 is now pointing to the wrong page.

iPhone 4, just updated to iOS 6.

Same problem here on both iPhone 4 and iPad 2 after upgrading to iOS 6. Connecting to AirPort Extreme if that is helpful.

Same problem. Found a fix.

Go to settings. General. Reset. Reset Network Settings.

Phone will then restart and go try to join your wifi. Type in password and then go to settings. wifi. click the blue arrow next to your network and select auto join.

Had the same problem.

Trying to connect to my own WIFI network opened Safari and it would try to connect to a Apple.com webpage that doesn't exist.

FIX:

Settings > Wi-Fi > (Network...) > "Blue Circle Arrow"

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and set:

HTTP Proxy to Auto

I tried your suggestion Mr Coles and so far it still doesn't allow the wifi.

Any other thoughts?

Same problem, I reset all network settings, and still the same issue, this happens after I restar the iphone, when first install the ios 6 it was OK, now I can't connect to my own wi fi 😟 what's happening? Has anyone try to restore the iphone to it's default settings? May be this works.

didn't work for me. I had already iOS 6.0, but battery died, so recharged it. Wanted to connect to wifi (I turned it off before battery died) but got me the same issue as mentioned in this topic. *** Apple, serious bug going on!
