This is what worked for our phones and iPad which we stupidly upgraded to iOS6.

There are various problems but the ones we were suffering at home, where we have 3 WiFi networks fixed the problems of "Incorrect Password" when you know the password is right and "Cannot connect to..." error.

The Incorrect password error presents with WEP security and the Cannot connect error presents on WPA/2 security.

All of our PCs and Windows phones still connected fine as did an iPod Touch with iOS5 so it was clear this was a bug in iOS6.

To fix this, all I had to do was lower the WiFi channel number on our routers. iOS6 cannot use a WiFi channel higher than 11.

I've tested this over and over again with the same results. If all I do is change the channel number on the routers from 10 to 12, the Apple devices stop working while everything else works fine. If I change the channel back to 11, 10 or 9 the iOS6 devices are immediately able to connect again.

I hope that helps some of you.

I am at a conference in Austria. The apartment owner has spent 2 hours checking all the wiring and wireless units in the building trying to work out what is wrong. Two people 2 hours. Their HTC phone works, their PC works, my iphone 4s with ios6 does not (except for a couple of seconds)!!!!!!!! Then we searched on google to find all this crap.

Why hasn't apple fixed this after all this time!!!!!!!!

I tried many of the easy fixes in the discussion but none worked. I then just powered down the phone then powered it back up and it works perfectly now!!!!

Is there anywhere to see responses just from Apple about such problems? Having to read thousands of emails about what may or may not work is a waste of everyone's time.

Or do they just want us to pay for genius store people (who also seem problematic?)

Since the upgrade i tried everything but reaplacing my wireless router! My curent one wassn't cheap so replacing it will be my last option. I have a home network the uses the internet from the ruter (5 PCs, 8 wireless devices). I have 3 ihpnes4 using my network but only 2 of them have the wireless problem. Strange thing is that the network work! i can connect to everything on the network, for example: remote deskto or itune library, but no internet connectivity. If we knew that the iOS6 is so bugged we didden't upgraded. It suck to have a very high end gadged and not working.

I finally went into Apple the other day after printing out 5 pages of the threads from this discussion, and they said that hadn't heard of any issues! I was gobsmacked.

Anyway, they said that the only thing they could think of was an interrupted upgrade. In my case, that rang true because I was in a rush to get out of my hotel in Guatemala to a bus, so I would have taken it out of range. May I suggest you back it up and go and visit a store?

Cheers

Tracey

PS Hasn't it been frustrating!

To resolve this

http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/wifi/#section_5

Reset network settings

To reset your network settings, tap Settings > General, then tap Reset > Reset Network Settings.

When the device restarts, try to locate and join the Wi-Fi network again.

It worked for me!

IMPORTANT: Your network setting (like Wifi password etc) will be reset, so sure you know these before reset.

I finally had to take my iPad in to an Apple Store. They told me that they don't have a fix for the problem and would replace the iPad with a new one. The new one came with iOS 5 but they updated it in the store to iOS 6. The new iPad gave exactly the same problems with Wi-Fi dropping out. I took it back again and they gave me yet another new iPad, but this time they did not update it to iOS 6. The iPad with iOS 5 is working 100% again without any changes to my Wi-Fi router or any other setting on the iPad.

Hope you can get the same splendid service from Apple in your area.

Good Evening,

I am now a happy man. I have got my iPad 2 (IOS6) and my friends iPhone (IOS6) back on the web after a week or two of bad or poor connectivity!

When I came home last night I realised I could connect to my neighbour's WiFi but not my own.. They had not set up any encryption.

I turned off the WPSK thing (whatever!) on my Cisco router and I was back on immediately.. I have now secured my network using MAC addresses and all is well.

There must be a bug in IOS6 re. wireless encryption..

Now going well after 25 hours! I have just told my friends with Apple devices and they are all more cheerful already.. MAC addresses may be a little obscure for some people, just look for a list of allowed devices on your router!

Good Luck

Hello people, I'm back with some answers. I had the same problem with my home network, my iPhone4 couldn't connect to my wifi, wich was secured by WPA2-PSK. After 2 weeks of reading forums, email and pages, it seems that apple doesen't care about the iPhone4 problems, they are concentrated on iPhone5. Ok, so here is my answer to the issue. I turned off the security password from the wifi and did the next things (if you are not familiar with setting up a wifi router please find a specialized person who does):1. Turned on Firewall from router settings; 2. MAC Address Filtering ON; 3. registered every MAC that I wanna have acces to the internet, otherwise they will only have LAN connection but no WAN. This step takes about 10min for a profesional. For me it works. The problem comes from the new iOS6 release from apple that made an error on the code, for short word a BUG in the iOS6 that doesen't know how to decrypt the wifi password. I hope it helped a lot of you out there, it did for me. If i find something better I will reply.
