Wifi not working on IOS 6

Just updated to IOS 6 and everytime I connect to a local wifi safari opens up with the apple website, then fails to connect. Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem. 2 3GS. iPad2 works fine.

Using a Siemens router.

Thinking of buying a new router just to test, but the thing is that we have a couple of unprotected networks around the house and when trying one of them, it works for a couple of minutes and then back to not working.

I don't get (and never have) the redirect to apple.com. It says it's connected and everything but I can't access any webpages, AppStore or anything. Just got the loading circle 😕

Tried resetting phone, router and putting proxy to Auto. But nothing seems to work. Restarting router gives the same result as connecting to a unprotected network. Works for a couple of minutes then stops.

Any suggestions?

This worked for me after trying all other suggestions. Read a post about updating firmware on my Netgear Router. Went to Netgear site, searched for my model, downloaded firmware file. I then followed instructions on the router setup on my computer. Wifi working!

I realized this might be the problem because my wifi worked in another place that had a different router. I also read a post about someone switching routers and it worked. Also a good friend suggested that some routers didn't work like others in his workplace.

I had the latest firmware on my Netgear WGT624v3 (2.0.26.1.01), unable to join network after upgrading to iOS6. Went back to the prior version 2.0.25 1.01, still no good, tried 2.0.21_1.0.1, Bingo! iPad 3 on iOS 6 started working. Now able to join my wireless network.

Yo Everybody

I managed to fix this issue few minutes ago. There a few steps to maintain it.

1. Settings>>Safari>>"Clear History" also "Clear Cookies and Data"

2. Turn Your Cellular Data Off

Settings>>General>>Cellular>>Cellular Data (OFF)

>>Enable 3G (OFF)

3. To Maintain your Wifi

Settings>>Wi-Fi>>(Your Network Name)>>HTTP Proxy(Auto) + Leave URL empty

I hope that might help you folks!

ps. if you haven't managed to find your network, after step one you might wanna restart your network settings

My problem is the same, the wifi has won´t connect, have trying rejoining it manually and it won´t work, tries for a second then shows message - internet not available.

C´mon Apple, get your act together. Question is, if you can´t connect (I´m in Guatemala travelling and can´t tether to anything) how can you get an Apple fix for this? I´m almost sorry I didn´t bring my Dell with me.........
