Just updated to IOS 6 and everytime I connect to a local wifi safari opens up with the apple website, then fails to connect. Anyone else have this problem?

I tried all solutions proposed

Auto PROXY

Reset Hardware

Reset Network settings

....

Nothing works, not possible to connect to WIFI in the office,

Other Iphone's (not upgraded to ios 6), have no issue with our infrastructure.

If I set up a personal hot spot on my MACBook (that has a wired connection to the network) , i can connect with that hotspot, and WIFI works, switching again to WIFI in the office is still failing.

From my point of view, there is no issue with the Wireless Access points & Router because all other devices (Iphone & ipad not having IOS 6; MAC Books, IMAC's, Windows PC's, Linux PC's, Android Phones) can connect wireless without any issue, except for 1 Iphone (4s) and 1 IPAD (2) , both upgraded to IOS 6

This must be an IOS 6 software issue !!! Mr Apple ?

To those who have tried all the "fixes" and are still having issues. I was in the same boat. As some others noted in another thread, downgrading your WIFI router's firmware fixes this for some people.

In my case, I have a Netgear WGT624v3. The current firmware is 2_0_26 but when I downgraded to 2_0_21, this fixed it for me and others.

The download link for the downrev firmware is here: WGT624v3 Firmware Version 2.0.21_1.0.1 (North America)

The download link for the current firmware is here (if Apple identifies a fix in iOS 6 then we can put our routers back at current firmware): WGT624v3 Firmware Version 2.0.26_1.01 (North America Only)

Hopefully this helps some where nothing else did.

Kind regards,

Michael

Everyone is facing the same PROBLEM!! But the thing bothering me is will it EVER work even the geniuses are acting like dumb fools and all they're telling is to turn it off n on again / restore and loose all your data / contacts and everything. >_< PS Nothing works at all I've tried evrything. Seriously nothing fixes it. DAMMIT. I shall sleep now.

I am suffering the same situation. Wifi was weak, but functional in the office before upgrading to iOS6. Now it's not recognized unless I'm right on top of the Wifi antennae. It seems the iOS6 "upgrade" has weakened the Wifi sensitivity. iOS6 is a fail. Removal of YouTube and Google Maps, most of the new features unavailable to devices 1 year or more old, weakened Wifi and so on. And this is an upgrade? I disagree. An upgrade ADDS functionality.

I have an iPhone 4S upgraded to IOS 6. I have a netgear router and a netgear access point (WG102) as well as two airport expresses generation 1. I can connect to all of them except for the WG102. However, all of my other wifi devices connect fine to it. My Mac Book pro and Mac Book Air have no problem. My wife has an identical 4S BUT she is not upgraded to IOS 6 yet and it connects full strength. Apple definitely missed something here at a minimum with the Netgear devices. I have tried unplugging the WG102 and soft resets to no avail. I upgraded the firmware on the router but that did not work. I have not had time to see if the WG102 has a firmware upgrade that could fix it but that SHOULD NOT MATTER as it worked before IOS 6!!!! It is only 5 months old. Maybe someone at Apple can try to test the WG102 and find the solution? Everytime Apple upgrades I seem to have hours of debugging to do. yawn

Hi All. I have spent some time investigating this issue on the Netgear WG102 wireless access point and have discovered the following;

Netgear have had to remove AutoCell functions including rogue AP/station detection due to the loss of support from a "developer". This is apparent in the ELF image in the firmware header and Netgear's changelog for V5.0.0.

The later firmware versions do not allow downgrades even if you change the encoded firmware versions in the actual firmware image.

I suspect that there are similar issues with other APs. Functionality between the Netgear WG102 and iOS6 would be in my opinion unlikely. I believe it has to do with the authentication over wireless in iOS6 that is causing the problems.

Will we see a fix? I am not sure that we would see much support in this area of backward compatibility!?

Fix for Apple IOS6 Connectivity on Netgear WG102 Wireless Access Point.

I have just been in our boardroom and tried to Join our Guest WIFI and guess what it fails ;-/

WG102 in our main office is fine running firmware V4.0.16

WG102 in boardroom wont connect running firmware V5.0.3 (latest)

I have downgraded ours to V5.0.0 which works and retains all configuration settings.

I hope this helps people while Netgear release a firmware update above 5.0.3 to resolve this issue.

Cheers,

Ben.

Same problem in ios6 on iPAD2 and iPhone 4S. I can connect to unsecured wifi's and my home wifi but I cannot connect to a corporate wifi with a popup web login page. Now it takes me about an hour to try to get a connection working. Half the time the login page fails to popup. Sometimes, It can partially load the login page, but stalls after that with a blank login page. Sometimes, the login page loads but when I cannot type in it. Sometimes it loads, I can type in it, but it stalls and freezes when I hit 'log in'. About once an hour, I might be able to get to the point I can log in - at least until the screen lock kicks in again.

I do not have cell service turned on for this iPad, only Wifi. I've tried resetting all network settings to no avail. Forced reboot, Forget this network, reset all network settings, HTTP Proxy Auto, Auto Join, Don't Auto Join, turn on/off wifi, turn on/off airplane mode, HTTP Proxy off. Nothing is working. Occasionally taking some of these steps gets me logged in but as soon as the screen lock kicks in, I get booted off the network and have to try this all over again.

Piece of #@%$@#. Clearly they didn't bother to test ios6. Maps suck. Passport's a joke. iMatch broke and wiped out all my music and once I got it working (after a full factory reset), you cannot delete songs. And now this. Forgot Apple being a reliable brand. If I had wanted to spend hours and hours and hours getting it to work, I would have stayed on Android!
