I just updated a few minutes ago and I'm having the same problem, I can actually see my battery % going down as I type! Its going down 1% every minute or so!
UPDATE: The % has been going down at a slower pace over the past few minutes, and I also noticed the total time is now increasing, it went from 3 hours up to 5.5 hours, Im hoping It will go up from here. Maybe it just needs some time to calibrate the battery?

Do you happen to know if I can (or should) calibrate my macbook pro13" bought on abril 2012? and if so, how can I do it? thanks in advance for your help
I know the feeling
Charge you battery until the light turns green, continue to charge two hours, then take the charger out an use your make until it goes black (no more juice on the battery) and the wait 5 hours before charging the computer. That is it.
But should really not be necessary on a MacBook less then a few month old. But try it... If you think it will help.
- Charge until light turns green.
- continue to charge two more hours
- take charger out and use your Mac until there is no more battery and the Mac shuts down
- wait five hours before charging again.
Sorry writing on my iPad and not good at it.
None of these tips worked for me either on my Mac Book Air so I just reinstalled OS X 10.7.5 and I'm back to 7+ hours of battery life indicated. I'll let it run down and see if it is that long. Why can't they fix this? It's clearly an OS issue since this is the same hardware that had 2 hours after 10.8.0, 2 hours after .1 and 1:30 hours after .2. That's actual usage time.
Hi,
I have the 11" MBA 2011 (i7, 4GB, 480GB OWC 6G SSD). Could you tell me how do you calculate the battery drain time. I use the MBA various times per day. Is there an app that shows the battery usage time since last charge?
Thanks
I ran CNN video feed full time without screensaver, etc. it ran for 7 hours on Lion and 1:30 on Mountain Lion.
ML 10.8.2?
Yes. 10.8.2 was worse than the previous two. I even reinstall from 10.8.2 with no Pps other than the is included ones. No help.
thanks this helps me. I'll stay on 10.7.5.
I wish I hadn't have wasted the money for the upgrade.
After upgrading to 10.8.2, the battery on my Early 2011 MBP literally drops by 1% a minute. It also gets screaming hot when on battery power.
This is unacceptable and make my computer unusable off power.
Apple - please fix this!!!
I agree...my battery life under 10.8.2 has gone back to what it was when I first upgraded to ML. On my early 2011 MBP, when I first upgraded to ML I noticed a significant loss of battery time, 7 hours under Snow Leopard went to about 3 hours under ML. Then 10.8.1 came along, and I got an extra couple of hours of battery life, up to about 5 hours. Still not as good as SL, but definitely better!
As soon as 10.8.2 came out, with quite a bit of hype about improvements to battery life, I updated...and I have gone back to about 3 hours battery life. I have pulled the plug out about 10 minutes ago, and already i am down to 87% battery...I can watch it drop about a percentage point every minute while I am typing this!
Apple, please fix this urgently.
** Early 2011 MBP, OS10.8.2, currently have Mail/Safari/Evernote/Dropbox running...and now 86% battery...
Will Apple ever respond to this? We've been through two updates and everyone has recognized the problem, except Apple. Why is that do you suppose?
Same problem here, 13" MBP 2012 ... Apple, please FIX it SOON!
