Well done - I had used Siri and it was only after that, that the wifi stopped working - does prove that it's an issue with IOS 6 that will need fixing I would imagine, not that Siri is much use in the UK for location based results...
thanks it worked
It will start working. Something happened at 6pm CST and lasted about 40 minutes. Just keep trying to connect. I did not have to do any resets/fixes.
I don't use Siri. It's still turned off. But this solution helped me. I don't know why this solution, but I'm happy 🙂
This isn't working for my 4S. I just keep getting the spinning wheel next to my network under settings. I tried resetting my network settings. Nothing. Renewed leases. Nothing. Shut off wi fi, restarted. Nothing.
nope. not on the original 4 anyway. it can't find my router 😠
It won't find my Airport router either. Networks, yes, but it says my password (which works on my wifes iphone, her imac, my macbook pro, my daughters macbook...) is "incorrect".
Airport Utility on my macbook pro works fine, but on my iPhone 4S (ios 6.0) Airport Utility App states, "No Airport base stations have been found...."
None of this helped me, wifi option is greyed out. Did several hard resets, restored 3 times, with the most recent being a fresh install, no dice. Already been through 2 levels of Apple Support and they can't help--kicked it up to the engineers. I have an iPhone 4, updated my iPad at the same time and that works flawlessly.
Me as well I have tryed every fix I can find on the net and non of them seem to work... If i enter the wrong password it tell me but when I enter the correct one all i get is the spinning wheel next to my home network need help bad nothing seems to work.
Does not work for my iphone 4S. I upgraded OS and and my bluetooth synch with my car worked fine until a couple of days ago.
Wifi was working fine a few days ago then just dropped out on ios5 then nothing, upgraded to ios6 and still the same problems. Wifi screen was locked on as pictured by AlexMuller but somehow fixed itself but still cannot connect or find any wifi connection. Spends all its time looking for connections.
Although by some miracle it did pick up my wifi and the neighbours but when trying to connect screen flashed and now back to square one!! Good work apple this is rotten get it sorted!!!
Found a fix that resinstalls your iphone4s back to factory settingswhen in recovery mode. 🙂
Firstly turn off your iphone. then open up itunes and connect your turned off phone to itunes via usb cable. Press and hold the home button & the on/off button for 10s or so. A box wil appear on itunes stating an iphone has been found in recovery mode and do you want to reinstall back to factory settings. Click restore and follow the prompts.
My phone has now reverted back to its original settings. I can now pick up wifi no problems..🙂🙂
Do not upgrade to ios6 till they get this issue sorted.
I have tried everything everyone has said and spent an hour on the phone with VZW. They agree its an IOS6 problem too. Their solution is to send me another iphone 4S. I guess I'll wait an see.
