iOS6 - Terrible Maps - When is Google Maps coming back

Apple has close to 100 Billions on their balance sheet.... And what do we get!? iMaps... ? You don't develop something by heart and put enough money behind it is set for failure.

As a investor, I will seriously now think about cutting down 401k exposure to aapl stock.

no google on apple products might just affect apples bottom line negatively.

the money they may gain in map adverts they may lose in hardware and software customers.

If you don't like the dumb-downed OS that is iOS - how do you expect to like the tinkerer's OS that is Android? Wait til Windows Phone 8 AT LEAST and get the HTC 8X or Lumia 920. You wouldn't be able to handle Android.

Hate to break your apple is wonderful illusions, but like Microsoft, Apple is a business and only care about how many units they can sell. It's all about filling the share holders pockets.

Apple knew there maps application was rubbish and done the only thing Apple is good at, put a shiny bit of aluminium on it and give it a really glossy sales pitch to make people think they need it.

I think this needs an anti-trust case against Apple, as maps is core to the operating system. Downloading google maps won't change the core. This very much stinks of when Microsoft said the Internet explorer couldn't be removed from windows. It will need a government or two to force the issue I think. Where is my MP!!

What is wrong with these Apple maps?? They were in such a hurry to replace Google maps that they didn't even finish the **** thing!! Come on Apple, spend some of the BILLIONS you are making on your products and fix this issue. Jobs would have never stood for this. I am in a major town and it shows my location as I'm in the middle of nowhere. Lets go Tim, step up to the plate and keep the quality that jobs created!

Has anyone setup an online petition to get the old maps re-instated? Maybe if apple saw millions of people all saying give us what we want in a single yes/no style (after all Apple like simple) maybe that will hold some weight.

the new Maps is absolutely horrible and useless. I can't get any navigation functionality, keeps saying it cant find the routes in the region while google used to give 3-4 options for any route i wanted. its rediculous. Apple please quit your bickering with google and get the old maps back, and the youtube app for that matter.

For this and similar issues i cancelled my my contract for the iphone5....

I Find all you clames weird. Im fron North Carolina USA and had no problem with navagatioion.... it was simple as " Siri give me directions To RDU" She thought for a moment confirmed where i wanted to go, opened maps and all i had to hit its the little return looking button and i had clear directions all the way there, in fact i had my real gps running juist in case and the iphone took me a quicker way. The only thing that i see a problem is the 3D..... stuff looks distorted. thats it!

All this bruhaha. Just use the Safari version of

Google Maps. Simply open the Google Maps

webpage, create a shortcut to the Home Screen

and your done.

Then just act like the new Maps app doesn't exist.

BTW, personally for nav, I though even the old Maps

was lame.

How can I use web wersion of Google Maps with Find My Friends? Currently my wife is located in the middle of the lake, should I call for emergency services?

Well if u ask me "find my friends" is freaking weird....... But again I have no problem with my maps navigation in off by maybe two feet. When it finds my location in my house it it gets me on the right part of the house. It really accurate. Also u gotta remember that apple has been hiding that they where doing maps for years... Give them time
