How does passport on iOS 6 work.

you have to download the apps that they show you when you open passbook you'll see app store and click it and itll take you to a few apps that work with passbook....but thats about it.

Yes, but how can this be done when all you get is the "Cannont connect to iTunes Store" error? What apps does Passbook tell you to download on te main screen? All I see is Boarding Pass - Tickets - Store Cards - Coupons on the front page and then.... "Cannont connect to iTunes Store" :-(

It is still not working on my iphone 4.

Everything works like magic. !!! After installing an app like Fandango for example, you must make a purchase. After completing a purchase you will be asked if you want to add your tickets to Passbook. Go Apple.

I tried the above and it did not work for me on my iphone4S... 😢

I've tried changing the time to a point in the future (I've tried a couple months, as well as a year). This still is not working on my iPhone4. I tap the Passport icon, the next screen shows a variety of passes, and to continue you have to tap the "App Store". When I do this, most of the time I get "cannot connect to itunes store" immediately, but sometimes it begins trying to load but fails almost immediately followed by the "cannot connect" message. Help! Has anyone gotten this to successfully work on an iPhone4????

I tried the date change fix and it seemed to work yesterday. But now I am back to the same problem. I tried the date fix again and now it is not working... Not only that but now I am getting the cannot connect message when I click on App Store or the newsstand apps also. C'mon apple!!! ***!!

Yeah it's nice to lunch an app that's supposed to keep all your coupon, tickets.... and everthing else but what the point if it's only working with 6 app that no one ever use like AA or lufthansa and other but none of the major one has Delta, groupon and many others...

I am pretty disapointed.

I figure more businesses will take part in Passport eventually, but geez... unless I'm missing something, I can't even store my Apple or iTunes gift cards!

The Passport app *****! As much as I love Apple, why do they continue to put useless apps in their new iOS's, First a Compass and now this Passort crap? What's next, a Chinese abacus?

There are two issues mixed together in this thread:

1. First, there's the technical issue of Passport launching and connecting to the iTunes Store. Fiddling with the date settings may cure that.

2. The second one has to do with the cryptic interface of Passport. Even when it's working, there's no clear way to figure out what it does or how you use it. It may appear to not be working because it looks like it's doing nothing and there's no way to figure out how to get it to work. If it connects to the iTunes Store, it may leave you stranded at the main page, almost like Apple's Maps app may leave you stranded in the desert. If you do a search on "Passport" in the App Store, you'll get applications that will help you take a passport photo, apps that have visa information, etc. Yes, there may be some genuine apps for Apple's Passport application but you have to guess which ones they are. I had to use Google to find magazine articles that talked about Passport apps. That still seems to be the only way to find them.

Like Maps, this is an epic fail. Apple, please stop promoting and including new "features" of iOS that simply don't work. I just makes you look stupid and uncaring about customers.
