I too have lost that ability since upgrading. I imagine it will come back in an update.

I hope so
I have been looking for the same answer since I updated to iOS 6.
I am lucky though as my iPad is still on iOS 5 and use that to hide purchases in the App Store.
Hopefully they will fix the issue in the next update
Disappointing, but the swipe-to-hide function does not seem to have made it to IOS 6.
However, there is a workaround. You can still hide purchases via itunes. If I remember correctly, there's a section for "Purchases" under the "Store" area. You can view purchased apps for all devices on your account. Click an app icon, then click the (X) that appears in the corner. iTunes will ask if you want to hide it.
I am very disappointed in apples sloppiness on this update. I regret updating both my iPad and my MacAir. I left windows and Microsoft because of this kind of stupidity. Both Apple and MS are showing what a lack of competition does to product quality. I expected better frm apple.
Does not seem to work. The iTunes app has no store link. Via the web my iTunes acct says I have no purchases. It seems to recognize music only.
Specifically, on a Windows 7 PC: (no idea how to do it on the iDevice!)
Launch iTunes on the computer your device is synced to.
Choose iTunes Store on the left. (Or Store/Home from the menu?)
Choose AppStore at the top.
Choose Purchases from the list on the right.
Choose Apps near the top.
Choose All at top right.
Choose iPhone etc. top middle.
(From the View menu (top left) select something that shows you the app icons?)
Holding the mouse over an icon will reveal the cross in the corner to hide that app.
Apps can be revealed again by clicking your account name, top right, signing in, and scrolling down to iTunes in the Cloud.
:)
Thanks so much! This was driving me crazy... this method works fine, but I sure hope they bring back the simple swipe!
The thing u said to do through iTunes does not work for me for some weird reason!!!
I hope apple will get it right on the next update, if they don't i will throw my iPad out the window!!!LOL
How the **** can u get a profile pick of a cat ??? the best profile pick there is to chose from is an umbrella. Please tell me how u did what u did u noble master!?!
I have the same feeling. If I don't have a computer nearby, how am I supposed to stop apps that aren't useful anymore from showing in the purchased section? I hope they restore / correct (the lack of) it in the 6.0.1 update.
It doesn't seem that they have done it.
That is not accurate. You cannot see, delete or hide applications purchased through the App Store on your computer in iTunes. iTunes store only shows apps purchased for an iPhone or iPad.
I'm trying to SHOW hidden apps and cannot find any way t do it in iOS6 or iTunes 10.7!!
Log into & view your iTunes account.
Select Show hidden apps then sselect which apps you want to unhide.
