Q: iOS 6 WiFi option is GREYED OUT (unrelated to iOS 6 WiFi connectivity issues)

As reported in an earlier thread, since upgrading iPhone 4S from 5.1.1 to 6, the WiFi option is turned OFF and is greyed out/disabled. Have tried all combinations of hard/soft reboots, router resets, network settings reset, cleared cookies, etc. Nothing. The WiFi option is completely disabled.

WiFi worked fine prior to iOS 6. Now I can't turn it on. My wife's WiFi is fine, she can toggle on/off and hasn't had any other connectivity issues as reported by others.

Please call AppleCare about this issue, they need more information about this issue. You're definitely not the only one experiencing it according to this forum, and that means there are a bunch more people experiencing it who aren't saying anything. The more the engineers know, the more quickly they can fix it

that happen to me also. the only i got it back to normal was going to mail, contacts, calendars.
going thru each one turning on the off all the setting's. hope that helps.

sorry i wasn't clearer. what i did was go to mail, contacts, because some were greyed out and calendars
and reset all i had. they all said on but i turned each one to off then back to on..

then you can go to contacts and on the left it will say groups. under groups all groups should have a check beside each one.............

Did you upgrade to iOS 6 OTA (Over the Air) or were you connected to the 30pin connector? Just curious.

Hmmm well thanks for the suggestion, it didn't work. My WiFi setting is still unable to toggle to On. Thanks anyway.

I did an OTA upgrade to IOS 6 and lost WIFI option immediately. Did hard reset - did not fix. Plugged into my desktop and upgraded iTunes, then synced - did not fix. Been thru all of the settings, trying multiple changes to no avail. I'd love a fix ASAP please Apple Support!!!!

I have an AT&T 4S. I did a wired upgrade to iOS6 from 5.1.1 and my wifi is greyed out also. Still looking for a solution...

More and more apple is starting to look like windows. Last week I updated my mac to mountain lion, at least three of my programs I use evryday didin't work.
Now I upgraded my iphone 4s to ios 6 and I have the same problem Trapdoresoth; I can't switch the wifi on or off.
I am very disappointed in apple, the second time within 1 week. I thought things always worked on a macc. A lot has changed since Steve left us.....
Is there a sollution for the wifi problem yet ??

Have this problem also (greyed out wifi). Hope Apple will do something about it. My bible app won't open as well. Just updated it a few hours ago. i wanna go back to iOS 5.

Yeah I am having the same issue. WIFI is greyed out with no ability to change it. I have tried

Restarting several times.
Resetting network settings.
Airplane mode toggle on and off.

Nothing has worked. I need wifi for my day to day work!!

maybe when you start messing around with the on/off for data (while traveling) promotes this issue.

I don't think your having the same issue. People on this forum can't turn on or off their Wifi at all. The option is greyed out post ios 6.
