My ipad 3 is not charging after update to ios 6

Layrintho, the battery never read "Not Charging" before I upgraded to iOS 6 though.

I found that I had to do a Dfu! just make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and connect your iPad directly to your laptop and download I OS 6 all over again that should work

I don't have any charging problems with the iPad, iPhone 4s or 3gs I can't get my app store purchases or list to load so I can install my apps, this is not a smooth upgrade

1. Turnthe iPad ON

2. CONNECT it to the dock

3. Make sure iTunes is open so you’ll know when it enters DFU mode

4. HOLD the Power/Sleep-Wake button AND the Home button for around 10 seconds.

5. RELEASE only the Power/Sleep-Wake button and continue to hold the Home button

6. WAIT until iTunes recognizes the phone/iPad in DFU Restore mode (in Windows a bubble pops up saying it recognized new hardware “DFU Mode” or something to that effect)

Thanks for that... i am not going to do it for now because things have started to work! I moved my charger from one plug socket to another and now the iPad is charging! Very strange!
Still getting a lot of push notifications that block apps though... :/

I am experiencing slow charging with my 3rd gen iPad. I have stupidly upgraded to iso 6 whilst overseas, so I don't have access to my iMac and can't reinstall using iTunes.

I have to agree with Deckers777: even though my charging does work now after the efforts to connect to my PC before connecting to a charger proper, the charging seems substantially slower than it used to.

Speculation: I wonder if the new iOS 6 is much pickier in its tolerances for (in my case) a generic charger.

Perhaps Apple was getting warranty repair issues due to poor DC quality from cheap chargers, and this is one way to reduce the impact: reduce the current draw (and increase the charging time required) from generic devices.

Are those relying exclusively on Apple-brand chargers suffering slow-downs?

Strangely, enough, this seems to be related to the cord or plug. My iPhone and 2nd gen iPad were not charging, I changed the cord to the most recent Apple iteration, and using the same charger, everything worked. Not sure what that means, but that solved the problem.

I am only using Apple issue charging leads. The one variable I have is that I am also using an international power adapter as I am traveling in Europe. Would this make a difference?

you're reset your ipad to go to itunes and klik on reset/restore

After doing complete restores on both my phone and iPad they now appear to be working correctly :)

My Ipad went to 0% battery while in the charger and now i cant do anything about it because no chargers anywhere works for my iPad anymore....

What the h*ll can i do ?

Having the same problem with my IPhone 4 will not charge at all.. Waiting on Apple to call back. I have tried apple charges, did a system reset nothing has worked. Praying they will find out what the problem is.

I am also having the same problem. My phone is showing that it is plugged in, but will not charge. This has happened only since my upgrade to ios6. Scared to upgrade my iPad now. Let us know how you make out
