Home sharing not working in iOS 6

I think this is a separate issue. The remote app for me works flawlessly. This issue is once connected to home sharing, through the music app, the list of artists is incomplete, and the album artwork is all mixed up.

Remote works well but music app not. it shows to my collection but cannot connect home sharing at all

Vary well maybe, or just at a differnet stage. Hoping that any of the info leads to a resolution. Haven't tried my Apple TV yet, but if I can't use my ipad to queue up movies on my Apple TV I'm going to be Pi$$ed.

I can't do anything with the remote app. Even entering the 4 digit code to try to share a libray doesn't work. I've renentered all my homesharing info on both device and iTunes.

I had a similiar issue. Home sharing was not working on my iPhone 5. However it was working on all my other apple devices. I had 3 videos on the iphone. All I could see were these if I went into the videos app. I removed the 3 vidoes and "automagically" the shared icon appeared and home sharing worked as expected. I downloaded the 3 videos again and everything still works fine.

iOS Sicks

I had this exact same issue. Logging out of Home Sharing (in the Music settings) and logging back in on my iPad 3 solved this issue for me instantly.

I tried that, didn't work for me and my ipad2. I even unisnatlled itunes, reinstalled, but still no luck.

The solution by @Lee Calamaio worked for me! I had to restart all my devices, including my router, but it works. All artists are back, and the album art is fixed too... I owe you one!

Well I noticed if I sign out of home sharing on my iPhone and iPad and then sign back in then the problems go away. All artwork seems correct and artists all listed. But it doesn't last, try again later and it's the same jumbled mess with data messing. Some kind of caching issue on the devices I guess. Seems a pain to have to log in and out most times you want to use just to get it working 100%

after upgrading to ios6 home sharing only list 13 artists of more than 400 😟

Pain in the butt, but a workable solution until Apple fixes it. Lets hope soon!

SImilar story here. After iOS6 update, home sharing (music) went haywire after having worked perfectly ever since I purchased my Ipad 2. At first a only a small part of my albums showed up on the Ipad (10-15 albums), changing to a different small selection, when logged out and back in a again. Then following my next attempt, home sharing stopped working completely.

I have tried all the usual turning on/off, logging in/out options and restarted my router a couple of times. Nothing works.

Why doesn't Apple acknowledge that there is a huge problem with a core functionality? That way we might at least know whether something is being done.
