bluetooth music issues after iOS6 update

Ok, i just updated to iOS6 today. I jump in my car to drive home, and now my radio ( pioneer svh-p3400BH) no longer shows any sont info when bluetooth streaming. I used to get artist, album, and song info. Also, when i connect it via USB, i no longer get genra infr ( pop/rock, classical, ect).

Any ideas? if this a firmware on Pioneers side, or is the blue tooth messed up in iOS6?

I have had enough of waiting. Booked in with Genius Bar at my local store and have replaced my phone with a new one on 5.1.1. I will upgrade at a later date when Apple, or Alpine do an update. (which I can test on my ipad2).

If you 4S owners who bought on day 1 have less than 10 days to exchange if that's the option for you.

Wow. Just called apple support stating I was going to return the 13 business iPhone 5's because of this issue. Ten minute hold and I was put to a supervisor who gave me his direct line and said "expect 6.1 put in the next week to week in a half, you will be pleased"

Lets hope this guy wasn't just appeasing me temporarily.

Hmmm… sounds like a supervisor needs to be written up, given I don't believe developers have been seeded with a 6.1 beta yet.

That is fine in my eyes. I've called apple three times in total about this issue, and that is the first time I've been put to somebody that gave me some kind of information. The other two people simply told me to wait for firmware updates from the manufacturers. In the end, it doesn't really matter to me. I've had every iPhone since the orignal, and I've actually purchased every one on the release date, but this is the deal breaker for me.

I know apple has 14 days to issue a fix for this or all 13 of my phones are going back to AT&T. I have not had one of my employees state that they have issues with their phone, however I am having issues. I pay the bills, so I decide what happens, and if I'm not happy, then apple is not going to receive a penny from me.

I've been researching alternative phones, and I'm VERY impressed with the HTC's. I've never 'looked outside the apple box' until recently, and I do not think it will be that awful to leave apple like I had previously thought. In fact, some of the options and abilities of the non-apple smart phones are pretty impressive.

In the end, I would like to keep the iPhones, however it's not a huge ordeal if apple doesn't fix their issue. So the ball is in their court, and we will see what the next two weeks bring.

So despite the fact that your employees like them and are likely more productive, because it won't work with your car stereo you'll return them all?

That's your power as a consumer, but wow.

I don't understand why so many people spend all that

money on high end car audio, only to destroy the music

my playing back over sub optimally compressed Bluetooth

instead of direct streaming over USB.

Audio quality on my Alpine system is an order of

maginiude better when streaming via USB (which is actually

a true PCM stream for the Alpine gear) vs. the totally lack

of punch, clarity, and definition that you end up with

when using Bluetooth.

I think everyone is looking at who is at fault for updates on a fix. Apple is saying it is not a bug, they informed the manufactors about this and look for an update from them. I believe all the stereo manufactors are saying the same thing, that they had no idea about this, it is a bug in iOS 6 and look to apple for a fix. I am looking where the fault lies to know who I need to ask every once in a while how it is coming with the fix, and I am sure that is what most people are looking for as well.

Are apple seriously saying none of the beta testers drive or use bluetooth? I would have thought at least 1 beta tester would have owned a car with a bluetooth stereo and noticed the problems i refuse to change the stereo it cost me too much i would much rather swap the phone wich is no longer fot for purpose and is pretty much a paper weight O_o

So, it's just dumb luck that most Bluetooth headends work just fine with iOS 6?

If you want to blame Apple beta testers, then how about the fact that certainly there are engineers at Alpine, Kenwood, and other companies who have a developer account and therefore used developer seeds of iOS 6 when Apple released them several months ago? Why do they not bear any respoinsibility?

Once again, we'll find out who's to blame soon enough, but certainly if it were an Apple bug any number of Android fan engineers would have had the issue root caused and posted to pro-Android forums by now.

If the message above is meant to refer to me, I've never said anyone is crazy, simply we don't have enough information to assess who's at fault as of yet.

My 3GS worked just fine with our JVC after market Bluetooth stereo (KD-R526) until I upgraded to IOS 6. It wouldn't even find the Bluetooth device. Now with the iPhone 5 I am having the same problem. No matter what I do I cannot get the Bluetooth to connect or even find the Bluetooth connection.

Note your issue is slightly different than that of most people here, and you might have better luck if you created a new topic regarding your particular issue.

9 more days to see if iOS6.1 with a blue tooth fix is released, otherwise this former fanboi is jumping ship, along with all 12 of his business 5's. 🙂

For those looking to return phones to AT&T, simply call them and schedule it over the phone. They will actually send you a return box, and they will also reimburse you for all at&t peripherals (including cases) that you have purchased. Just my return alone will cost apple $3528.00..

I know that is a drop in the bucket for them, but maybe next time they can be sure to make their phones support former versions of software.

I'll start researching "how to root" this time next week. LOL

Just do it now - you'll be much happier and will be able to spend your time on your business rather than worry about whether your phones can display artist/title information on your car stereo.

(It's also not going to cost Apple anywhere near that, as if anything AT&T will send Apple the phones, they'll be inspected, Apple will send AT&T replacement merchandise (at cost rather than retail pricing) and the inspected returns will either be sold as refurbished or used as warranty replacements.)

Also, did you read Kenwood's response to iOS 6 issues above?
