photostream not working on pc windows 7

Oh, my GOSH, this has turned into a nightmare. No fault of yours. Just sharing my frustration... I got SOME of the pictures that weren't going into the Photo Stream folder before but not all, which is frustrating enough. But when I logged out, it required removing all my iCloud documents (no other way to do it) from my computer. It said I would lose them all but that it would back up my Outlook calendar to iCloud. OK, so I guess it could be a worse nightmare because the calendar did back up, which I first thought had not happened. But it has saved most of the calendar items in quadruplicate!! And my main calendar is empty, so now I am going through "fixes" trying to repopulate my main calendar with all my appointments.

The more I deal with these things, the more those dadgum droids sound like they might be worth at least one try!!!!!!!

So I'm not really posting this just to vent. 🙂 I am trying to warn people that problems can occur when logging out of iCloud now IF you use the iCloud backup option for Outlook (and possibly other things). Good luck!

I use a sync Outlook Ad-In that continuously syncs the iCloud calendar to the Outlook default calendar. So my process in going through this is as follows:

1) Export browser favorites/bookmarks

2) Log out of iCloud/uninstall, whatever is needed. (delete

3) Turn off CodeTwo Sync For iCloud (http://www.codetwo.com/sync-for-icloud/), delete all iCloud calendar events, delete iCloud calendar and iCloud contacts and contact list

4) I save of copy of my Outlook PST file (saves the calendars and contacts)

5) Log in to iCloud.com and delete all calendar and contacts.

6) Install and setup iCloud Control Panel

7) Setup CodeTwo Sync For iCloud (http://www.codetwo.com/sync-for-icloud/)

Done.

I will save my calendar to .pst next time before I do that (if I have to again... which I surely will). I back up my Outlook every night, so I am mostly protected. I ended up exporting the iCloud calendar to .csv and then importing it to my main Outlook calendar. That got rid of many of the multiple entries, too, although not all. Most of those are birthdays, and I'll just deal with them a week at a time through the year. It sure is a pain in the neck, though!!
