iTunes Match not working since io6 upgrade

I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to iOS 6 and iTunes match does not work. Any picture shows a picture iCloud with an icon that is not moving or will show the names and album names but won't show any songs

I had the problem and the only way to fix this was:

Attention, the iPhone will be erased, so make sure, your data is safely stored!

  1. Sync the iPhone/iPad with iTunes
  2. Right click on the iPhone in iTunes and choose "Back up".
Now the iPhone back up is updated.
  3. Disconnect the iPhone
  4. On the iPhone, go to settings->General->Reset->Content and settings
This will delete the entire iPhone, make sure, your Data is saved
  5. When the iPhone restarts input the phone code and SIM code (if used)
  6. Connect it to iTunes
  7. Choose the latest backup (from step 2)
  8. Let iTunes do the work
  9. After everything is done, the iPhone should be exactly in the state of point 2
  10. Activate iTunes Match and start the music app
  11. Wait a few minutes (it takes some time before the library starts updating) when the screen shows the cloud picture
  12. The music should be back.

This worked for all of my devices, and as a psitive effect, the iPhone has some gigabytes more free space, maybe this is because of some orphaned files, that caused the trouble with the music app.

A simple "restore phone" in iTunes didn't help, it seems to be neccessary to delete the iPhone completely and then restore from back up.

Tried Delaney's solution and many many others I've found on different posts and itunes match STILL doesn't want to play me any of my music on my iphone. Just cycles through the album art as it tries to play songs. I've even restored my phone from backup and all those other options like flipping switches in some secret-code order. Anybody have any other things that have worked for them? I'm at a loss

I'm no pro, but this worked for me on both my iphone 4 and ipad 2, I subscribed to imatch after upgrading to iOS6 and experienced some of the same issues reported on this thread. Here's what worked for me:

Go to "Settings>Music

Scroll down to where it says "Home Sharing",

If there is a box underneath your Apple ID with a field that says "Required", enter your password.

Once again, I'm no expert but it worked for me. Everything was there where I wanted it. Hopefully this will help others. No resets, no complicated steps, no third party software to download. Perfect.
