Apple vs Google Maps

I am very disappointed with the new Apple Map that replaced Google Maps. This is a backward move to 2009 software. How can I get Google Maps back. I need street view when I am in a strange neighborhood. 3D is cute but how many times will anyone use it. Please help!!!!

I agree. The maps app is a huge mistake by Apple. In the UK, the satellite images are so bad that any form of vague detail is not visible. Even small towns are so pixelated that they are impossible to see.

Unfortunately, like others, I am waiting for my iPhone 5 tomorrow so am stuck with iOS 6. Very dissatisfied. The loss of any form of StreetView is a disaster and a huge backwards step.

Apple could have spent some of their tens of billions in at least buying decent satellite imagery of other areas in the world.

I've got the iphone 5 on order but am thinking of returning it during the 14 day 'cooling off period'. The trouble is I've laready updated my iphone 4 to iOS 6 and there's no legitimate way of restoring it to iOS 5. Oh how I wish I'd have waited before ordering the 5. Trouble is the Galaxy S3 doesn't do it for me either. I may use my cooling off period to give the iphone 5 back and just go and buy a 4S fro ebay that's not been updated yet.

Apple, what have you done? 😠

Apple Maps really *****!! Using it in Malaysia is rather painful - moreso if you're an iPhone 4 user where there's no turn-by-turn voice navigation feature or any of the other accourements for the 4s. With Google Maps, I could search for buildings and businesses and get some result. This is most disappointing!!! ARGHHH

if you have been using Google maps to get from A to B you would be really having to keep on updating your phone, There are a number of free apps on the apple store, one being NavFree which is a fully functional speaking GPS system.

I think Apple have done the right thing, they have maybe taken a step back to make a stride forward,

I think this is going to cause chaos for Apple. I bet they didn't think they'd get a massive negative reaction about their Map App. For me the phone is much less useful with out Google Maps and streetview. I have actually canceled my first day purchase of iPhone 5 because of the map problem. I wont update my other devices to IOS 6 either.

What were they thinking? This could easily lead to a reasonable drop in sales. They have lost mine until I can get google street view on the device.

Hello Apple, this is a joke, right?

Sattelite maps of Switzerland are either blurry, pixeled when zooming in, or completely not existing. The maps are very confusing. Some Restaurants in Zurich are either totaly misplaced or listed with >10 year old phone numbers (wrong local code). Only yelp has good infos.

There are entries of companies who moved away in 2002!

Has someone restored a 10 year old backup?
