Apple vs Google Maps

I am very disappointed with the new Apple Map that replaced Google Maps. This is a backward move to 2009 software. How can I get Google Maps back. I need street view when I am in a strange neighborhood. 3D is cute but how many times will anyone use it. Please help!!!!

WE NEED OFFLINE MAPPING AND NAVIGATION!!!!!

I would absolutely love to buy the new iPhone, but lack of offiline navigation is a total deal breaker.

I currently rock a Nokia N9 running MeeGo (I know, I'm weird) which does offiline maps and navigation brilliantly.

The new Nokia Lumias will have full offline mapping and nav.

Plus I understand Google have added/are adding offline for Google Maps.... how are Apple so far behind the competition?

Such a shame - like I say I would love to buy the new iPhone (I love Apple - I have iPod touch, ATV, iPad and iMac), as it has a lot of other great things going for it, but because it misses such important functionality compared to the competition, I just can't.

PLEEEEEASE MR COOK, PLEASE GIVE US SOME OFFLINE LOVE :-)

I'm so disappointed with Apple Maps. The Apple Maps not work in my country Malaysia. Many places Not Found! Even some city area also not found. Google Maps don't have this problem at all. The Maps not detail and not showing the building even just Standard Mode but Google Maps does. Confusing to use. The most serious problem is many places NOT FOUND! FIX IT!

I could say this is a joke, but it isnt funny.

The POI info is sooooo out of date and the satelite imagery is......... I'm lost for words, take a look at my home town, if I didnt have the app set to hybrid I wouldnt even be able to tell where a road is!! never mind a footpath through a park or between houses.

Come on Apple get it sorted before you lose a lot of customers, the only thing that is making me sit on the fence at the moment is the amount of money I have invested in apps, otherwise I would be cancelling my iPhone 5 before I even get it.

While they are still updating somethings on the new Apple Maps but the MOST basic thing which Apple Developers did not take into consideration which Google Maps did which is public transport.

When I try to ask for directions from my home to anywhere in Singapore, it keeps showing me lousy bus apps which I have to download. Why should I even do that?

Apple Maps, if you want to have your own maps could you at least follow a little bit on what Google Maps have intregrated so well.

This is how Google Maps works when I asked for public transport direction. It shows the direction I should be heading towards to the closest bus stop/train station. Then it shows you what BUS numbers you should be taking and the timing of the buses and which stop to alight and change to another bus if needed.

This is the basic all maps should be done this way.

Serious, who cares about 3D (when only US has it) 3D does not help in any Asian countries. If you can't do street view (which I know you all are just pure lazy), then make sure your 3D is REALLY a 3D and not copying from satellites and tell the whole world it's 3D.

BACK TO DRAWING BOARD APPLE MAPS!!!!

This has been the biggest disappointment ever!!! Apple Maps ***** big time! I can't even get a satelite view of my town. Searching for business is not great, I hate there is no street view. Im begging there to be a Google map app to resort to. Apple you have screwed up bigtime and this has changed my mind about getting an iphone 5. I really don't like iOS 6 either. I want to go back iOS 5

Just as google maps increased resolution and more places over time I'm sure apple will do the same but it is a shame they rushed this out the door when they new it would **** people off, you can still use google maps html 5 with safari as others have said but it is not quite the same as the old IOS5 version but pretty close.

Try Mapquest for driving it's free and pretty darn good, it is turn by turn Nav with voice for iphone 4 and up. With google maps I had to tap on the screen to get my next direction and the text was so small I could barely see it. I like Mapquest better for driving than google maps. I have used it in the states and Cananda and it was always on the money. It does not have satellite view but does have live traffic, walking directions and lots of listed services like gas stations, rest stops, food, etc.

I'm sure Apple will be flying over your town soon and slowly improoving this new map app. My house is on Apples satellite view and we have a new car that is in the picture which we've had for about 6 months, so their pictures are pretty new. Going to try Apples map app to go to JFK airport today to see how it does....wish me luck!

This is a disaster - I live in London, and having the different logos to distinguish Tube stations from regular railway stations was essential to me... and now they've been replaced by a generic public transport icon!

Bus stops are not marked in the new map... neither are the Thames Clipper routes up and down the river.

Street names contain typos and spelling mistakes... the list goes on.

😮

My biggest disapointment from apple ever!!

APPLE SHOULD LET US CHOOSE MAP CONTENT PROVIDER in settings, i.e. choose tomtom or google. !!

I HATE the new map, difficult to see bleak coulors, houses are drawn on the streets, resturants are located on wrong places and I miss the realy good tool, Streetview. F**king poor performance from tomtom and Apple.

If it's any consolulation it's dire for the UK too. I'm in central London. The five year old restaurant I'm in is missing - probably too new. After that more than 50% of the remaining shops and restaurants in the area are missing. And that's central London. Roll on Google Maps App. OK Siri will be missing but who needs a PA as clueless as Siri will be with these maps!

Apple what were you thinking? Do you Apple Guru's not use the mapping apps in your iPhones? I'm not going to bother listing all the inaccuracies and lack of Satellite content. At the very least we expected to get what we had before, this is an appalling way to treat your Customers.

This is the first time I have felt the need to post on an Apple forum, but you cannot treat your customers like this. I assumed the problem would be that maps outside the US had taken a lower priority, but it seems that isn't the case.

Get the content right, please.

Well not seeing what you guys are seeing and I have never used street view as I don't find it all that useful. If you need it to build confidence up then you shouldn't be driving in the first place. Here are two views of satellite imagery of my old house. The google one is about 5 years old yet the apple one is less than 2 years old. Also quality on the apple one is much better.
