Apple vs Google Maps

I am very disappointed with the new Apple Map that replaced Google Maps. This is a backward move to 2009 software. How can I get Google Maps back. I need street view when I am in a strange neighborhood. 3D is cute but how many times will anyone use it. Please help!!!!

Apple what were you thinking? Do you Apple Guru's not use the mapping apps in your iPhones? I'm not going to bother listing all the inaccuracies and lack of Satellite content. At the very least we expected to get what we had before, this is an appalling way to treat your Customers.

This is the first time I have felt the need to post on an Apple forum, but you cannot treat your customers like this. I assumed the problem would be that maps outside the US had taken a lower priority, but it seems that isn't the case.

Get the content right, please.

And ranting is against the TOS of these forums so I suggest you stop. Also this is a user forum so you are not addressing apple here.

I certainly did not intend my post to be seen as a 'rant' .

Surely all iphone users can at least expect a replacement app to at least match the service they had before? I glad your bit of the mapping is up to date, that is clearly not the case for many as you can see from this and other threads.

Through these User Forums we can engage with other users and the software developers and at least try to get back what we had yesterday.

yeah, i've decided to cancel my order for the iPhone 5, they won't let me cancel online, i have to ring apparently.

Went against my better judgement when i ordered, but i was desparate to upgrade my aging 3GS, and thought apple maps couldnt be that bad. Now that i'm beginning to see map comparisons for the UK, and see the map data i'll be losing access to, it's scared me off. Google maps data has just become so important to me. I can always reorder the iPhone 5 when things become a little clearer.

Bing Maps offers a very good maps service with Bird's Eye, a feature similar to Flyover. It's arguably better than Google Maps.

You can use Google Maps by creating a shortcut to the Home Screen with help from the article below.

MapQuest also has a very nice app available.

Nokia Maps is another great service that you can add to your Home Screen via a web shortcut.

If you would like to send a suggestion to Apple, please go to http://www.apple.com/feedback or you can Report a Problem via the Maps app by tapping the bottom right.

This map mistake and arrogance reminds me of Windows Vista. For me this might be the straw that makes me move to a Windows 8 tablet. At least I would get Google Maps that work and You Tube and FLASH which I miss every day when my Ipad daily remind me that I can't play video. In my opinion Apple has forgotten its customers as it wars with its competition.

In my neighborhood in Tokyo the Aooke maps don't have block numbers! That's like leaving off street names in U.S. maps. It's an incredible downgrade of user experience to the level of unusable. I'm glad I just tested by upgrading my iPad. I won't upgrade my iPhone for now, because that's what I usually use maps for when working around.

It does seem rather arrogant on the part of Apple to downgrade the user experience like this. It's an indication of what is most important to them - apparently not us.
