Whatsapp not working well after iOS6.0 upgrade

The whatsapp is fine. It's iphone's own privacy setting. The new ios6 meant to give you more customize power by letting individual app that sent you request to access your contacts or photos. In your iphone's settings->Privacy->Photos-> Whatsapp (ON)

to let it access your contacts so it can see those who have whatsapp in your contact list like before.

settings->privacy-> contacts ->Whatsapp (ON).

After change of setting, you will need to quit whatsapp and re login, it should refresh the setting.

I had to quit out completely few times.

I had the same problem, I just Deleted the app and reinstalled again and that solved my problem.

are chat histories gonna be gone? 😟

i did that..but i still can't see the pictures that my contacts are using..

are your chat history and recieved files still there?

I had same problem on my Whatsapp on my iPhone 4.

So I reinstalled the app and its working completely fine now.

The only sad thing bieng the chat history and shared media is deleted. So better take bake up of both of them.

I am having the same problem .. I have 4S

I sent an email to whatsapp support regarding the issue

They said they will fix it in the next update

All of you who are having the same problem .. Send them so they can fix it quickly!

If you have upgraded to iOS 6 and you are encountering issues on WhatsApp related to the following: Contacts not showing and Profile Pictures syncing, please keep reading.

In order for WhatsApp to properly work with your iPhone's Contacts, you will need to give the app permission to use the Contacts from your phone. If you denied permission after updating to iOS 6, you can grant permission by going to your iPhone Settings:

- iPhone Settings > Privacy > Contacts

- Turn WhatsApp to ON

- Reboot your phone, then launch WhatsApp

Your WhatsApp should now be able to properly use the names from your Contacts, as well as Refresh your Favorites list.

Just delete and reinstall, worked fine for my 4S.

Hi Whatsapp experts out there, I just upgraded my iphone to iso6 and lost all my contacts in my Whatsapp applications. Phone contact seem to be intact due to the icloud Sync.

Any idea what happened and if there is a way to recover or move it back to Whatsapp?

I know you can email all your chat history but once I delete the app and reinstall is there a way to import that chat history again?

You don't need to uninstall WhatsApp. Just go to Settings->Privacy->Photos and allow WhatsApp. Do the same for Settings->Privacy->Contacts. Hope this helps

I have both "Photos" and "Contacts" set to "On" but the profile picture of my contacts are still not showing up. It's not a huge deal as everything else seems to work fine but it's just bugging me.

I tried what was suggested.......Just go to Settings->Privacy->Photos and allow WhatsApp. Do the same for Settings->Privacy->Contacts. Hope this helps.....but it didn't.

So I just deleted and reinstalled, works fine but without previous chat history!
