Oh holy mother of science I figured it out on my son's iPad by stupid luck and chance!
We had restored it because when Dad helped my 9 yr old set it up, he used my iCloud - oh no, he doesn't need to get my mail! So, we did a wipe. When we did, EVERY last (#*)%&)@&$%)(* time we entered in our netword password key, it said 'incorrect password. Having experienced this before, I reset the network settings on the iPad. Nope. Didn't work. I made sure my POS Verizon Router was okay- and it was - all our other devices had no connectivity issues. The network was found by the iPad, strong signal, but the password, which we carefully entered and re-entered 12 million times was always incorrect. AAAARGH!!! 😢😠😢
Well, turns out that the issue was when we restored, it took out the key choice (WAP/WEP/WAP2, etc).
So, this time I reset the network settings again, deleted our home network, then re-entered it as new, but before entering the password, I chose "WAP2" (which is what it is/always has been but was not "checked" now- yours may be WEP or WAP or enterprise or whatever, just enter the right one for your network), entered the password and Et Voila! It WORKED.
Of course this was right after I'd called Apple, explalined the "bug", told them all my other devices worked and that I'd reset network settings. You know, I don't even think Apple's Geniuses (and I do love them) knew you have to re-check the key choice...
Anyway, i hope it works for you as it did us. Now I can call and cancel the personalized replacement and all things are restored to peace in my household. 🙂
Mu hu ha ha ha ha ha! I am a MOM GENIUS!!!!
