I keep getting the same thing. I'm amazed at the lack of information or instructions that have been offered with such a new app. I've had to search on blogs to get a better understanding of the app. From what I've read the app isn't a huge time saver especially if you already have apps such as Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts that allows you to scan your rewards card right from your phone. Now you have an entirely new app to have a duplicated of just that.
For now I've put the passbook app on the last page of my iphone and might return to it in a few months if it seems user friendly or neccessary.
Thanks for the link.
My feeling is that this is NOT currently an App of convenience and more a case of technology for technology's sake.
If this is going to be the new Apple, maybe it's time to sell Apple stock and not buy.
I agree it seems a useless app. Airlines will email/text boarding pass. All you have to do is open email and if the airport has the technology, they scan your iPhone or iPad and thats it. If not Passbook wouldn't be of any use. Other than when movies are going to be sold out, buying a ticket through Fandango is a rip off, so I've never seen thepoint. Wait a few days, the crowd slims and go to the movie and pay less, you also get your frequent user bennies.
Youd have to be a big user of tickets to make it make sense. As far as I can tell none of my grocery or drug store companies have Passbook options. Not that one would know sense there are so few instructions and it doesn't just work.
