ios 6 won't download apps

I downloaded iOS6 and tried to update my apps. None of them are able to download the updates. I can't even download new apps from the updated App Store. Clicking to update or download an app moves it into the download queue, but either says "waiting" or "doanloading" and no progress is reflected in the blue progress bar for the doanloads.

Is this an issue with my iOS 6 update? Do I need to restore my phone? I'm hoping to avoid restoring from a backup. But have tried turning the phone off, signing out of the app store and signing back in, and resetting all the settings from the Settings menu. Nothing has worked.

Got mine figured out. I also use iTunes Match. We've had problems with it since the beginning, like others have...downloads start then quit, making it impossible to listen to a specific song, etc. for some reason, iTunes was trying to download 70+ songs. These were taking precedence over my app downloads. I swipe-deleted all the music downloads, and the apps started downloading right away. So if you're having this problem, be sure to go to iTunes - More - Downloads to see if your phone is trying to download a ton of music. I'm guessing this could happen whether or not you use match, as iTunes will try to download music automatically from time-to-time.

The topic of this discussion is regarding apps, not music. I have no problems downloading/synching music on my iPhone4 with iTunes or the App Store after intsalling the iOS6 upgrade. The problem being discussed here is with regard to apps -- again, not music downloads. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Apple Tech Support confirms there is a problem with iOS6 and apps which they are working on to resolve. Let's hope they get it fixed soon!

And if you pay attention to what I wrote, rather than being snarky, you would understand that I too was talking about downloading apps. Once I cleared the stuck downloads in my iTunes, my apps started downloading immediately. Sorry if this fix does not apply to you, but I'm sure it does apply to others, and last I checked, discussion forums were not generally specific to one troll..I mean person.

"i was able to fix mine by deleting pending downloads in itunes. i must have started soem music downloads from icloud but paused them when i skipped a track or something. after deleting those pending downloads, my apps kicked right in and started downloading."

This worked! For some odd reason there was a song pending in downloads in the iTunes app. Deleted it and now apps install.

iPhone 4 with ios 6: Same issue, apps stuck installing.

I deleted apps that were stuck "installing." Syncing didn't help, removing the "installing" apps didn't help, as more then started "installing". I then put the phone in Airplane Mode, turned off iTunes Match in Settings>Music and resynced. That did it. (So, I think I didn't need to delete the 24 apps that were originally stuck. Just Airplane Mode and turn off iTunes Match.) Turned iTunes Match back on after resync that loaded the apps, and everything is fine, and I added back the apps I had previously (perhaps unnecessarily) deleted. So for me, it seems iTunes Match was the issue. I should have guessed that right away, as immediately after installing ios 6, my playlists were gone. I turned off iTunes Match, turned it back on, and the playlists were there.
