Keyboard shorcut for strikethrough?

I've been looking for keyboard shortcuts to use with Stickies--specifically, a way to control the Font Panel options.

What I could use is a hotkey for Strikethrough, in the same way command-B applies bold formatting, or cmnd-I applies italics.

This seems like something that should be possible, but the options in System Prefs>Keyboard Shortcuts don't seem to do the trick, since they're limited to commands listed in the menu bar. The Font Panel is a system-wide application--if I understand it correctly--that doesn't offer any menu bar control. (Which raises the question: if command-B triggers bold formatting, isn't there a way to assign other keyboard shortcuts?) I've searched google and the discussions boards here, but found nothing. This is a re-posting of an unanswered question I posted a few months ago. Any ideas?

(I already use Quicksiler and Spark for keyboard shortcuts, but haven't been able to get them to control the Font Panel.)

Hello MM (?)

As far as I'm aware, there is no answer to your question.

The Font Panel has, as you say, no menu commands.

The examples of cmd-B and cmd-I are valid, but most text applications offer "boldface" and "italic" as menu commands, and so shortcuts are possible.

Most do not offer "strikethrough", and while it is accessible via the Fonts Panel, it is not otherwise accessible at system level. Individual apps offering it as a menu command could either provide their own shortcuts or be forced to accept those imposed by System Prefs. But that doesn't apply to Stickies, which doesn't offer the "strikethrough" format via a menu.

If you want this feature, you'll need to ask for it from Apple!

Sorry!

Archie
