Problem with Unread messages with IOS 6

am using iPhone 4.

I am having the same problem. I have spotty message notification (no sound or vibration) when I am in the lock screen.

has anyone found a fix?

even after a restore from itunes AND from icloud, the unread message still exist.

ive tried deleting the last couple of days messages with that person followed by a hard reset as well

today I updated to iOS 6.0.1 but my message icon still says i have an unread message and everyitme i open the messages app, it opens to that "unread" message

PLEASEEEEE post a fix if youve found one. a fix that doesnt involve deleting the message!

Yeah, I have this exact same issue. Really annoying. Updating iOS has not made a difference and it really is bugging me now.

My wife has the same problem with her iPhone 4 after upgrading to iOS 6. The 6.0.1 update didn't help. There is a message that was sent around the time she updated to iOS 6 and even after deleting the message, a badge always shows up on Message and when you click on message it goes to a blank text message,

Ok ios 6.0.1 on iphone 4. My message icon displays i still have unread messages. i search my messages and non are unread, only way to remove notification is reboot the phone. Starting to become anyoing

Today , I experienced the same problem. previously I had installed to my 4s without any problem but today after installation to my wifes 4 , some of the messages were blank and also unread message counter problem exists. I think , As stated above these are the messages which might received during installation or which were unread before upgrading to 6 . Look forward to have a solution cause I had important msgs which flew away

Today I'm having some different problem. Having Iphone4 just upgraded from Ios 5.1.1 to 6.1 when i get new mail to my phone unread round blue icon its not showing. Showing that i have read all the mails.

anyone having same issue

please publish the solution! i've tried everything. i read elsewhere that i need to just open the message that's unread and so i scrolled through 8 months of messages from my wife (and she texts A LOT) and it still wouldn't clear. this is driving me bonkers.

I'm writing it down in my blog, please be patient 😉

I had this issue too and it was driving me nuts. The message count kept going up and the blue dots kept reappearing after reading the messages.

I did a hard reset and then deleted a lot of my old message threads. Went through the unread messages again, and voila! No more 'unread' messages.

I did what AlfonsoMG did and it worked perfectly. It does require iFile (which I already had, but can be an expense). It also required a lot of patience because I was scrolling through 15 months worth of texts to get to the corrupted text message, in order to delete it. Thanks AlfonsoMG!!

Don't need to reset your phone all you need to do is force restart your phone.just do by holding your home button and power button for 5 seconds.This is fix for it.let me know if it worked!
