Problem: I bought a $25 subscription to iTunes Match to backup my 4,300 songs to iCloud. After doing so I observed that many songs were grayed out on my iPhone, even albums I purchased at retailers like FYE and Best Buy. Some songs in the same album of any artist are grayed out and some are not (that is, still playable).
What I tried so far: Making a long story short, the iExplorer program route did not work for me. I downloaded iExplorer, but before I was able to install it, iExplorer detected I did not have the most recent version of Microsoft Framework NET 4.0. My PC has Microsoft Framework NET 4.0 Client version. iExplorer needs Microsoft Framework NET 4.0 Full version, so it downloaded the full version (~50 MB or so) and installed it.
I then connected my iPhone to my PC via USB 2.0 and before I could even open iExplorer, iTunes came up and synced with my iPhone (it should). After I shut down iTunes with Task Manager, I opened iExplorer. iExplorer, unfortunately did not fully load. Viewing Task Manager I observed that Windows would only allocate ~50 MB max memory to iExplorer and suddenly vanish from the "Processes" window. This is all with the demo version. Do I need to buy the full version of iExplorer?
Another concern of mine is the fact that I have many versions of Microsoft Framework on my PC, including Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended (required for iExplorer install).
Do the older versions of Microsoft Framework need to be uninstalled first? What does Microsoft .NET Framework do?
Is there another fix (other than using iExplorer)?
Please advise. Thanks,
