Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I'm currently waiting on Apple support to call me back about this issue, but I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

I upgraded to IOS 6 yesterday afternoon, and immediately after I could no longer connect to the Wifi at my place of employment. Everyone had this issue, no big deal.

Went home, Wifi worked fine.

Came into work this morning and I am still unable to connect. I have tried all of the various recommended fixes, and even gone so far as to do a complete restore. I work at a university with multiple networks and access points and have tried connecting to several, both secure and unsecure, with no luck.

This is what happens:

Unsecure Networks: Attempt to connect, wheel spins, Error Message: "Unable to Connect"

Secure Network: Attempt to connect, prompted for password, enter password, Error Message: "Incorrect Password" (Yes I entered the correct password, I tried multiple times, and the IT tech was able to connect to it with his iPad 2 running IOS 5)

I am also not the only one, everyone on campus who has upgraded their iPad 3 to IOS 6 is unable to connect. (All staff/factulty have iPads, most have upgraded)

I have spoken with the IT department and they are baffled, they have tried rebooting various routers and access points to no avail.

Obviously there is something different happening in IOS 6 that is causing these issues. My question is has anyone else encoutered this issue, and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have seen people above who have upgraded firmware on their personal wireless routers with success, but for a university with literally hundress of access points and routers this is out of the question, at least in the short term.

I'm having the same problems as everyone else. We have the latest version of the iPad. It was working fine until iOS6 came out.

I have a Netgear router, which by some of the posts, people have said it's related to Netgear.

I have reset my router.

I have disabled security.

I have changed the channel from 'auto' to '11'.

I have reset the network settings on the iPad

I have tried turning on the http proxy and setting my router's IP in there.

I have tried just letting the ****** thing sit still nothing.

I do not have the latest firmware in the router, as people have said to go back to the previous version from the latest.

I have contacted Netgear to see if they have any suggestions.

After each of the points above, I reset my network connections on the iPad and tried to connect to the network again. It connects for about 30 seconds, then it dies. This is very frustrating. I've never had so many issues.

I've seen posts on the net for downgrading back to 5.1.1 from the ios6 beta. Does anyone know if this would work with the release version?

Rolling back firmware on Netgear routers/waps is how we fixed our no wifi on ios6 devices last week. Started a thread with which firmware to use for diff models of routers/waps on Friday hope others can add to it for all to benefit. Downgrading firmware was the only method of fix we could find. Changing security settings or channel didn't work. Didn't want to leave open/unsecured so never tried that.

I have a 3rd generation iPad and after the iOS6 update, the App Store and iTunes Store are no longer working. When I changed the system date, they worked, but when I try to search something, they doesn't work any more.

Also, I'm having problems when try to upload something overf WiFi. It happens with Instapapper and Good Reader.

Someone is having the same problems?

Well... me too I'm on the 5% that bouncing the router did not help... Some of the issues that I have are:

  • Some pages (in general forums) tend to hang and send a timeout error or server did not respond. Usually I can load the first page ok, but I get the error when going to the next page. This happens in Safari, and not in Chrome.
  • Netflix keeps hanging and I can never log in.
  • I have some problems with app store and itunes store too. Sometimes I keep getting no connecting errors.

I have tryiend on 3G and the problems are not there, so it should be something with wifi. Also there problems are present in my iPad 3 and 2 (both upgraded to ios 6) and not in my ipad 1.

Hopes apple fixes this soon!!!

Bouncing router didn't help me either BUT things have changed...

iPad 3 still won't connect to Netgear

iPhone 4 connects but wouldn't do anything at all on the network.

I changed AP channel from 11 to 6 and MOST of the Internet is back but not the App Store or Ocado app - ie anything that needs to authenticate the user! Bizarre!

So still in the dark network-wise on one side of the house!

Still surprised that none of the tech blogs seems to be taking this up!

This is exactly the same problem I am having marcosatanka. I can't upload any pics to anything. Times out, can't connect to server. I originally had the itunes store problem, then when apple restored the ipad it fixed that, but then all of a sudden again last night, it started again. So now I can no longer access the itunes store for anything.

This is seriously annoying and by the amount of replies and people with issues, they must do something about it. I cannot afford to be bouncing around on my 3G prepaid. I have a home PC with wifi and 100gig for a reason. This is seriously irritating.

FIX IT APPLE!!!!!

Man, I am such a dumb***. I'd rolled back to iOS 5.1.1, but I was reading all these "solutions," and since Apple force-downloaded iOS 6 to my (new) iPad, I figured I'd upgrade again and give some of them a shot. No go, on any of them. D-Link DIR-615 here, worked great in iOS 5. I can't even roll back again, it's giving me some "unknown error." So now I have a pretty much useless iPad.

I read somewhere on this board that someone actually suggested buying a new router as a solution.

...

Yeah. If this isn't fixed within the week I think I'll look for a more permanent solution on Craigslist, and put that money towards something else.

If there is any doubt in your mind as to whether your WiFi will bork out on you with this update, DO NOT UPDATE. They haven't even acknowledged there is a problem, likely aren't going to, and are gonna take their sweet time about issuing a fix. You'll be stuck, like me and thousands of others, with a shiny brick.

Same problem here. I have two wireless routers at home. After upgrade to ios6 my 11n router still works ok but my older 11g will not. It just spins away, trying to connect, shows a tick for a second maybe then spins again. This is using wpa2-psk (aes). It is running channel 7 so some of the other posts here don't apply. Router in question is a dlink di-524.

Tried changing proxy settings, manual config etc. nothing fixes it.

Not impressed Apple!

Well...ADD ME to the list of frustrated ios6 upgrader! I can't keep my iPad2 on my wifi home network either-keeps kicking back to 3G and wants to join another network. Lost my personal 4G! iPad worked FLAWLESSLY BEFORE THE UPGRADE. Apple-I gave up WINDOWS due to all the bugs and countless security issues-please don't start acting like Microsoft......FIX THIS ios6 wifi BUG!!!!
