Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I'm currently waiting on Apple support to call me back about this issue, but I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

I upgraded to IOS 6 yesterday afternoon, and immediately after I could no longer connect to the Wifi at my place of employment. Everyone had this issue, no big deal.

Went home, Wifi worked fine.

Came into work this morning and I am still unable to connect. I have tried all of the various recommended fixes, and even gone so far as to do a complete restore. I work at a university with multiple networks and access points and have tried connecting to several, both secure and unsecure, with no luck.

This is what happens:

Unsecure Networks: Attempt to connect, wheel spins, Error Message: "Unable to Connect"

Secure Network: Attempt to connect, prompted for password, enter password, Error Message: "Incorrect Password" (Yes I entered the correct password, I tried multiple times, and the IT tech was able to connect to it with his iPad 2 running IOS 5)

I am also not the only one, everyone on campus who has upgraded their iPad 3 to IOS 6 is unable to connect. (All staff/factulty have iPads, most have upgraded)

I have spoken with the IT department and they are baffled, they have tried rebooting various routers and access points to no avail.

Obviously there is something different happening in IOS 6 that is causing these issues. My question is has anyone else encoutered this issue, and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have seen people above who have upgraded firmware on their personal wireless routers with success, but for a university with literally hundress of access points and routers this is out of the question, at least in the short term.

Really bud! (ArgyStar) We all know there's nothing that any of us can do but wait, this is apples f$&@ up and they have to fix it. Steve would not have had something like this happen because he lived for this and his replacement, well we are dealing with it. Lesson learned. Just make sure that no one we know upgrades to iOS 6 and the next full upgrade do not go for it. Apple is still better then BB, and the same as Samsung. Rather than get all mad and continuing to do the same thing we all know won't work, take it as a much needed time to not play with your iPhone / iPad / iPod and read a book, talk to family and remember what life was before all this.

Apple with Steve = :)

Apple without Steve = :o / :(

And apple genius = :p

Hi all,

I am having the same/simular issues.

I can connect to my wifi & get an IP address assigned, but am unable to browse any internet, safari or apps.

I have try all thing that I have read here. changed settings on my router, restored iPad to blank without reloading backup... possibly losing some data... a little annoyed, understatement. I have tried may options of turning off wifi, restarting, turning on, renewing. changed my DHCP allocation on my router to get assigned a different IP address....

NOTHING IS WORKING!!!!!!! Please can someone help?

I'm having a couple of wifi problems and I can't see anyone else with just the same situation - apologies if these have been covered elsewhere, blame my inadequate searching skills!

I have had no trouble whatsoever either automatically or manually connecting to free wifi when out and about, so I seem not to be suffering in quite the same way as others. In fact, my woes appear somewhat trivial in the light of the hardships of other posters!

Nevertheless, here I go with my two personal moans ...

Grump No 1: At home I have two wireless networks - a NetGearDG834G and a 2TB Time Capsule.

Prior to the iOS6 update, the iPad[3] automatically logged on to the Time Capsule but, since the upgrade, it finds the NetGear network and clamps its digital teeth into that.

That's not too much of a problem as it still works, but I read somewhwere that iPads work better with Time Capsule networks so I have previously always stayed with that connection. I can, and do, manually change it to the Time Capsule's network through Settings, of course, but how can I get it to see the Time Capsule and use that first?

Whinge No 2: As I am currently still on Snow Leopard v10.6.8 Build 10K549, I sync via iTunes v10.7 (21).

Until the upgrade, I sync'd wirelessly and whenever I opened iTunes, and the iPad was nearby and ready, the iPad was mounted as a Device in iTunes. Now, the only way I can sync is via the USB cable as iTunes does not "see" the iPad when not physically connected. Again, it's not too much of a problem but it is an irritation.

I've rebooted the iMac, iPad, NetGear Router and the Time Capsule to no avail.

I've even increased my caffeine intake, but all that did was make me feel better!

Any suggestions, one and all?

Thanks.

Hi,

I had the same problem: woking WiFi at home, connecting, but useless WiFi at work: the connection has been established, but no internet access, ping to local devices unreliable, ping to internet working sometimes.

A totally different change solved it: Security was set to TKIP.

After changing to AES my iPhone 4S IMMEDIATLY received emails from the local Exchange server.

Wonder if others can use this info?

By the way: WiFi AP: Mikrotik (the best)

Update for me. Had apple service call tonight. They said my modem/router needed and upgrade to its firmware! Said since apples upgrade they need to upgrade.... Dunno that's what they said. Rang Telstra mine is still under warranty so they're sending me s new one which is the latest one! It better freaken work!

Another discovery with my wifi is I cannot connect to the apple store, as in apple.com.au can only get in on 3G

Get new modem in 5 days, will let you know!!!

Stuck with the same problem since friday.

My wifi has a login screen which will not come up due to apple.com "cannot connect" message followed by immediate disconnect.

I dont have access to the router, cannot make changes to its settings etc as I'm abroad on assignment using an aparthotel shared system. This login process would apply to many corporate networks also.

The follow up from Apple is very poor to say the least - IOS 5.1.1 should be made available immediately as a push to all IOS 6 devices (option should be given in 'settings') as I dont believe the Apple statement that this affects "a small number of customers" - it only affects a small number as I suspect only a small number have encountered this type of wifi network in the first few days - I suspect this problem would affect any IOS 6 iPad if it tried to conenct to my network.
