Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

Dear Shanon, from my experience there is a short solution. Request every affected user to set 'forget this network' first. Request a restart of router/modem and Wifi transponders if any. Once the router is active start the apple products and search and add the network as normal

Thanks for that suggestion. I came in bright and early so i wouldnt disrupt any staffs wireless sessions.

I have did that as a first thing to try.

Im confident its an issue with WG102 WAP Firmware V5.0.3 and what ever sotware is used on IOS6 and the firmware on the Iphone benig the unique components that drive the encryption communication process to the WAP

I found if your Iphnoe 4SIO6 has Modem Firmware: 04.12.02 or higher, it seems to connect.

i have received a post of someone with the same deviec as mine, DOWNGRADED their firmware and back to normal.

I have tried pretty much everything there is to the Iphone 4S IOS6 side of things, till any given update might be released, otherwise ive also logged a call with Net Gear to assist as well.

They talk about potential MAC Addresses that are potentially not compatible "Hardware Issue"

My MAC Address : 44:D8:84:63:CA:17 , perhaps another combination.

This all ties in with how our devices communicate to our WAP's ?

iPad 3rd generation + DLink-615 wireless router = wifi issues were solved by installing firmware version 3.12

Ps: I never had such f...d up upgrade w/ ms dos or ms windows since 1987...

Would love to tweet about it but can't access my Wifi to do so.... This is ridiculous and unacceptable the lack of response from Apple to correct this problem.

Finally installed another router NETGEAR WNDR4500 at home, updated firmware to V1.0.1.20_1.0.40.

After two weeks of misery (only had no connection with the (old) router I initially did the upgrade to IOS6 with and after trying every posted suggestion) ... all works fine now...

We have a Netgear router at work, 2 x iPad 2 work after being upgraded to ios 6 but iPad 3 doesn't, I've tried the majority of the fixes with no success, any other ideas?

I am glad to see your item, because I had a long conversation with apple support in Holland because since the upgrade I can not send any emails anymore. It does not matter if I use the Wifi in the office, at home or elsewhere.

I can connect and use Safari etc., but no emails.

The support department did not have any other complaints yet (last friday) on iOs 6, but now I see that I am not the only one.

I hope the will soon discover the errors or whatever it is.

I already made a total reset of my iPad with the loss of some nice ebooks etc.

If any one has an idea ............

Update - IOS 6 WiFi issues seem to create instabilities with some router configs and not others. A network reset does help, as does a WiFi turn off and on action - to restore lost WiFi connection. My iPad 3 functions fine with my home router, but is unstable with a work router. The instability appears to be caused by large file downloads - download usually completes, but WiFi connection is lost. The IOS 5 worked fine at work, so the IOS 6 would logically seem to have added the instability, as nothing else changed. I can restore WiFi connection by either rebooting or switching WiFi off and on. I am not a techie, but a programmer associate thought the buffering functionality of the work router may have been affected when coordinating the session with the iPad. I have no problems with the same router downloading the same files to a PC. Again, this points the instability issue to the IOS 6 upgrade.

Although in my case, it is now just an annoyance, I have empathy for those who cannot connect at all. It is not your fault, Apple must come up with a fix as this is a mission critical issue for the Apple brand.

I think this JohnC54 posted ZDNet article is the single best technical RCA (Root Cause Analysis) that I've seen to date. It's also good (about time) that we are getting some mainstream press on the issue. Apple can not hide from this for much longer.

In the meantime, the problem that iPhone 4S and iPad 3 with their A5 chipsets and iOS 6 had with joining networks has been narrowed down. Research by Christian Rank found that the problem stemmed from a "different interpretation of [the 802.11n] standards: At least the iPhone 4S with iOS 6 sends a parameter "Extended Capabilities" in its association request to the AP. This "Extended Capabilities" parameter has a length of 4. Now, the "IEEE Std 802.11n-2009" states that this parameter should have only 3 as valid length. Contrary to that, the current "IEEE Std 802.11-2012" defines the valid length between 3 and 8. It seems that our HP/H3C equipment treats "Extended Capabilities" parameter length == 4 as fatal error and rejects the association (instead of just ignoring this parameter). tation is correct, and HP should correct its firmware. We've got in touch with HP about this issue and are now awaiting their response. Nevertheless, I hope that Apple updates iOS 6 that no ‘Extended Capabilities' parameter is sent during association, since its purely redundant."

Strange thing but since early Moday a.m. my iPad3 WiFi has been rock solid.
This is the first time since iOS6 I've managed more than 6 - 8 hours before WiFi dropped
As of now, Wednesday p.m., I've had a connection for 65 hours.

Nothing has changed this end as I decided to wait for the iOS update and didn't want to screw up my WiFi for the other devices.

I don't have 3G on my iPad, only WiFi.

Of course now that I've posted this WiFi will disappear again :-(

I wish Apple supported going back a version. ios6 is awful on my iPhone 4. I have to reboot it every couple of days because the wifi becomes very flaky.

I'll realize that network operations are getting really slow. I'll go into Speed Test and sometimes the initial pings won't happen, but most often the download test just stops partway through.

I'll reboot the phone and everything is back to normal for a day or two.

I'm connecting through a non-broadcasting Netgear with WPA2 and AES.
