App Store Keeps Crashing iOS 6 iPod4

I know I'm not the only one with this problem! It's driving me insane! Ever since I updated to iOS 6 the App Store has been a mess! No matter what I do, it crashes. Especially when I try to search for an app! It instantly crashes on me! This needs to be fixed!

I think you will find that iOs 6 is for iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPod touch (Gen 4), iPod touch (Gen 5), iPad 2, The New iPad.

http://www.apple.com/au/ios/whats-new/ if you scroll down on this link, you will find that :)

iOS 6 is nothing but a beta, and should have never been released! It has rendered my iPad 2, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch (Gen 4) almost useless!

And Apple say there is nothing I can do... Good one Apple! Way to treat loyal customers!

Ok, I spoke to Verizon as well as the Apple store - they claim my iPhone 4 has a hardware issue which is causing the problem and needs to be repalced. Apple is not acknolowdging that it is an IOS 6 problem or that anyone else has complained of having the same issue. Thankfully I had the warranty or they will charge you around $200 for a repalcement iphone. I think it is a big conspiracy.

Do you have proof to support this? There is no way I will beleive that the AppleStore crash could be because of a faulty hardware. My iPod Touch 4g is crashing and doesn't even got the same processor as your iPhone.

You shouldn't try to mislead users of this forum.

I've been having the same issues on my iPhone 4 since I upgraded from 5.1 to ios 6. I've lost numerous phone calls, email/text drafts, etc because of this issue...not to mention countless hours of frustrated cursing. I think it centers around the iPhone/Facebook integration. That's the only denominator I can conclude from all my hard and soft resets and restores from backup. I also deleted the app for now, but will try reinstalling it from the app store once I ensure regained stability. It's really not a hardware issue. I have apple care and am not even going to go down that path.

I've removed my facebook account integration from Settings and have even deleted my Facebook app from my iphone. Once I did that, i did a soft reset and all appears to be fine again....at least until my iphone 5 arrives next week. Regardless, this is the best/fastest and least battery consuming my phone has been in 2 weeks so we'll see how long it takes before things start crashing again.

Hello everyone,

The AppStore crashing problem can been seen everywhere with almost every iPod Touch 4th Generation user who has updated to iOS6. Even I have experienced this issue. A simple reset has been suggested and indeed, this does do the trick for many a bug on this new iOS. For me however, it did not do the job for the AppStore issue.

I finally opened the AppStore and went to the search tab, this is where I don't usually have long before it crashes. While in the AppStore, I reset my device by holding the power and home buttons down until the device rebooted. (No data or settings are erased with these actions)

After the device powered back on, I reopened the AppStore and not only was I able to view and download the desired app, but I was also able to smoothly slide and browse though other apps.

I recommend trying this course of action if you have the same issue.

I hope this helps you guys out.

AppStore issue seems to be memory related.

First, it seems to affect mostly the iOS devices that have less memory. Second I found that specific search that will gives a relative low number of apps will work correctly while search giving a large number of apps will always crash. As for Genius crashing all the time, I also do have a quite large number of apps on my iPod Touch. (However, I don't know the tools to validate this hypothesis looking at memory usage of the AppStore apps.)

I still have no idea if this will be solve on the app servers or with the first iOS update but I will not put more enery on trying to solve this on my side. Multiple reset haven't done anything to solve the issue. I would still guess that reseting your device probably only free up memory for a while.

you have to fix this, it seem a lot of people are having a lot of trouble because of your negligence

pleas fix it!!!!!

Gabot, you should address your post to other users and not Apple. I don't think you got trouble because of the negligence of the users of this forum. To address to Apple, you must use the feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

With initial OS release, you should consider at least waiting after at least one update before upgrading if your life depends on it. Still, I do share your frustration.

If you do some research, you will find that AppStore crash is widely spread. However, if every apps you use are crashing, then you do have a more specific issue since it is not widely spread. First, you should check if the apps crashing have been update for iOS6. If not, wait for an app update and/or contact the company. If you got updated apps that does crash, then I suggest that you first try to restore from your backup which could solve your issue.

I am having the same problem! I wonder if its because they screwed something up while the update was being created or what is going on? I would like to know. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I tired many times to reset my iPod and reboot it, but I have absolutely no idea how to fix it. Even though I know how to fix most things, this? I am not capeable of fixing.

Have you read the thread you are posting in before writing this? There is 5 pages of trials to solve the issue that doesn't gives much to anyone. Reseting, restoring, closing the apps like Dan suggested, any of this haven't solve the issue for most of the users.
