Thanks for that tip... I will try it and let you know how I get on.. Just discovered another glitch although I don't know if this is a result of iOS 6 or my pressing a wrong button.. When I play any songs in my music library the sound keeps cutting out and I have to press the play icon each time it cuts out.. Seems to me like the song is not loading properly.

Yep that's good your are trying to come up with a work around for the software update debacle.

I THINK APPLE SHOULD ALSO ACKNOWLEDGE AND THEN FIX A PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY THE ISSUES WE ARE NOW EXPERIENCING AS A RESULT OF UPDATING TO THE LATEST OS UPDATE.

WHAT IS MOST DISTURBING IS APPLE WON'T FIRSTLY ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM! THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL WAY TO RUN A COMPANY.

YES YOU HAVE BUILT AWESOME PRODUCTS BUT YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST..

THIS COMPANY UNFORTUNATELY WILL FALL BACK TO WHERE IT CAME FROM... ON IT'S KNEES DRAWING IT'S LAST BREATH!

DRAMATIC? SO IS SAMSUNG'S SALES FIGURES!

COMPLACENCY IS DEATH APPLE.. CUSTOMERS ARE THE BLOOD OF YOUR COMPANY.

ACKNOWLEDGE , THEN FIX YOUR SOFTWARE.

Ok let's look at some of the thousands of posts about the latest OS update AFTER APPLE PROUDLY ANNOUNCE WE HAVE FIXED OUR BATTERY ISSUES.. . QUICK DOWNLOAD OUR LATEST VIRUS!

*Thousands post of battery drain since updating to the latest OS UPDATE (VIRUS) FROM APPLE

* Their Loyal customers try to help each other by suggesting things like up date your battery at 20% or reinstall your operating system over and over, turn down the light to 20%, ONE GUY SAYS DELETE ALL YOUR APPS!!, that helps save your battery life! ***?

** I SAY F&@k YOU APPLE, YOU F&@KED IT YOU FIX IT!

I HAVE NEVER SEEN I COMPANY IGNORE CUSTOMERS LIKE APPLE HAS.

THEY HAVE A SOFTWARE THAT HEATS UP OUR HARDWARE TO THE POINT THAT IT IS NOW HOT TO TOUCH AFTER CHARGING AND THE BATTERY LIFE IS NOW 4 HOURS IF YOU'RE LUCKY AND WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE OR APOLOGISE FOR THERE ERROR.

INSTEAD THEIR GOOD CUSTOMERS ARE TRYING TO FIND A FIX!

COME ON APPLE SACK WHO YOU NEED TO SACK GET BETTER STAFF AND GET THINGS BACK ON TRACK.. STARTING WITH ANOTHER OS UPDATE TO FIX THIS DEBACLE OF AN OS UPDATE.

After seeing this issue and frustrated by Apple support, I finally upgraded my iphone4 from iOS4 to iOS6 version 6.1.3 (latest) because I needed "Whatsapp" app.

Hoever, after my upgrade my phone is working ok.

I dont use icloud.

I dont use outlook.

I use Facebook occasionally, I login and then logout.

Whatsapp is eating some battery because im texting a lot.

Overall I'm not seeing drastic battery drain.

version 6.1.2 talks about battery drain issue.

I think users still have battery drain issue.

So I'm convinced that Apple fixed this issue only for stock apps.

This is the reason I did not buy/upgrade to iPhone5 and my wife purchased an Android.

I'm highly impressed by how her LG phone works on Android.

So in long term, Apple will surely loose.

The only way I was able to resolve this on a Sprint-based iPhone 4s running ios 6.1.3 was to do a Reset of All Settings. I had originally tried to turn off everything that might sync to the iCloud or to the Cloud or to your Mom's Cloud and nothing worked. ONLY resetting all settings worked.

This does cause your phone to reactivate, which takes a few minutes but it should do it without issues. Also, you do NOT lose your data or apps nor the data associated with those apps. You might have to reset your passcode if services like Excchange require it.

Apple Battery problem FIXED !!!

Finally, i thought this day would never come. I charged my phone just one time in the day.

Again, i am proud owner of an Iphone (atleast for now).

Well, if you dont know the reason for my happiness, its because my phone battery didnt die on the same day i charged it.

Ok now, i am not exactly sure how this worked but am glad that sick problem is gone after so many troublesome months.

This is what i did:

First i tried removing all my apps.. (No luck)

Then if reset all settings to factory default...

Since that didnt work, i set up my phone as new. It installed 6.1.2 again. Then i disabled all necessary connections, didnt setup icloud and no exchange account.. Still no luck...

Next i setup my phone as new. This time i downloaded 6.1.3. Still no luck.

No icloud, no exchange accounts no apps, all possible connections dissabled still NO USE !!!

Then Finally i disabled 3G and VOILA !!! i have a phone again in my hand.

Well earlier i used to just disable celluar data, but i noticed that ever since i activated 3G on my connection, i have been experiencing certain network issues and also the network is just at half strength at my house where i always used to have full signal strength. Now with 3G disabled the drain is normal.

I guess the issue with the exchange server was something similar, it was constantly trying to reconnect.

Well, it doesnt mean i cant use 3G. I do turn it on when i need to and then turn it off.. I know its not a great solution, but after what i have been through, this sight is most welcoming !!

I started dumping my apps back, and slowly if all is well will do the same with iCloud and exchange account.

This is the list of things i deactivated. ( i turn on only when i need them)

No exchange account.

No iCloud account.

Turn off Bluetooth

Turn off push mail

turn off wifi

turn off push notifications

turn off 3G (most important)

turn off cellular data

turn off location services

turn off auto brightness (manually set the brightness 40% should do)

Dont automatically send diagnostics & usage

Turn on "limit Ad Tracking"

This is my battery status after 36hrs since my last full charge..

Usage 5 hrs (which includes 1.5 hrs of using the phone as a wifi hotspot)

Standby 31 hrs

battery remaining 26%

Earlier i had to charge every 6 to 8 hrs.

Hope this helps some of you... If it didnt, Keep trying am sure something will eventually work.

NEW IPAD MINI, IPAD, IPHONE ALL HAVE THE SAME BATTERY DRAIN PROBLEM SINCE THE LATEST UPDATE, PERIOD!

Everyone you talk to with THESE APPLE products has the exact same issue - Battery drain since updating to the latest OS.

I could run everything, use the Pad all day and get a day and 1/2 battery life - updated to the latest OS - 4 Hours max.

In the apple forum too many brown nose apple users too scared to tell Apple WE ARE NOT HAPPY- FIX THE OS .. THAT'S THE PROBLEM.

I AM NOT TURNING ANYTHING OFF BECAUSE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO!! FIX IT APPLE
