iOS 6 Bluetooth problems

I have an iPhone 5 and a Volvo XC60 with the Sensus Entertainment System. I pair my iPhone to my car for phone calls and A2DP Bluetooth audio. I had an iPhone 4 prior to my iPhone 5.

What I've noticed since switching to iPhone 5 is that my A2DP BT works fine until something (SMS, Alarms, Phone Calls--but *not* email alerts) interrupts the stream. After that interruption A2DP BT skips, fades in and out and is generally garbage until I cycle Bluetooth off and back on again.

I have not confirmed if this happens with my iPhone 4 on IOS6 (as so to determine if this is IOS6, iPhone 5 or both)--but I was running IOS6 prior to my iPhone 5 and do not recall any BT issues at all--I did have to repair my phone, but that's normal since the BT profiles might've changed.

Just thought I'd contibute.

Similar issue here also, 2012 GMC Terrain with Intellilink Radio, Bluetooth pairs fine than just randomly drops the connection and re connects, it does this sometimes 3 or 4 times per minute basically making the bluetooth useless. Using Iphone 5.

previous phone never had this problem!

I have another kind of issue related to Bluetooth and iOS6 (with iPhone 3GS).

Bluetooth is set to On (I) in Settings, but no icon is displayed on main screen.

Bluetooth icon is displayed only on Settings/Bluetooth screen, then disappeared on other screens.

I can't link automatically the phone to my car radio, I need to be on Settings/Bluetooth page for that.

It seems related to iOS6, because it worked fine with previous iOS before the last update.

Is Apple communicating on a fix regarding these Bluetooth bugs with iOS6 ?

I have a different Pioneer unit (I forget the specific model, an AVIC-something nav system about 5 years old). I still get all my track/artist info and my unit's next/back button works, but I get #6 all the time, a song unexpectedly beginning after receiving a call despite no song playing when the call came in. Very strange.

I have the exact same problem. Immediately after the iOS6 upgarde no one can understand anything I'm saying through my bluetooth microphone, to the point that I cannot use it, which means no phone calls in the car because it's illegal to hold a phone in my state. Pre-iOS6 I could be understood clearly by everyone. Apple, please help!

I just finished talking to Apple Help. The 2 reps were very nice. Ultimately they did not fix my blue tooth issue.

The second rep felt for me and was going to upgrade my issue. The first rep had me UNINSTALL: itunes quicktime, apple software support, amds, bonjour and apple applications support. They I went to APPLE.COM/ITUNES/DOWNLOAD and reloaded itunes. After all was said and done and 2 hours later my blue tooth is still not working. The help rep stated that blue tooth was not supposed to connect directly with SIRI. He now knows that is a wrong assumption since it always worked fine till IOS6. In my frustration I did figure olt that when asked to say a command if I say "PHONE" it trys to call last incoming call and fails. However if I YELL "PHONE" it says connecting to your phones internal mechanisim and connects me to SIRI (she is a dear) who lets me make one call and then I have to strat the whole process again. My blue tooth does not recognise any commands except "phone" and "PHONE". I sure hope the Apple Cores are working on this issue.

Also the tech told me that once I went to IOS6 the system is not configured to ever go back to IOS5.

I have an iPhone 4s that had no issues and worked flawlessly connecting via Bluetooth to my VW Jetta audio system when iOS 5 was installed, with the latest version that was out.

Immediatly after upgrading to iOS6, that good connectivity went bad. The strange thing is that sometimes it works just as fine, sometimes it would simply not work at all, not for controlling music, not for making calls... nothing.

I tried redoing the pairing process, but it did nothing, will still have the same erratic connectivity.

I have not been able to figure it out, but have not talked to any Apple rep neither. Anyone has had good luck??

I called Apple Support yesterday and was told "if it doesn't work with the new IOS6 then your Bluetooth is no longer compatible"!! I guess I'll have to buy a new Mercedes...

I have just had a brand new alpine w530abt installed in my car only to find that the ff/rw and song title etc don't work because of this iOS6 issue. I specifically bought this model because my partner has a similar system and loves it. Well did love if, until we discovered today that his alpine car stereo has also stopped working correctly since he upgraded to iOS6.

Nightmare apple!!!

I have the exact same problem since upgrading to iOS 6. I have problems in my car with dropped calls and inability to connect as well as problems connecting to other devices.

I have a BOSE wireless Bluetooth speaker that is also experiencing the same trouble. I've been playing Pandora from my iPhone 4s on my BOSE speaker. It is constantly stopping and starting. I relate to the other comments with regards to not knowing which device to smash first!!! I'm assuming the problem lies with the iPhone as this nightmare all began with the new iOS6 update.

I am having same problem with a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH, called Pioneer first and they were aware of the issue but they think that it is on Apple's side and not thier side. From reading the post it looks like it is Apple since it is happening accross many different BT devices. Same symptoms. No song information, no controls from BT device, choppy audio. Works fine on USB just not the BT

Everything worked fine on IOS5

Called Apple and rep was not aware that there was an issue but did open a ticket for it and suggested that I go to apple.com/feedback and leave a note there as well as a "Bug Report" for the feedback type.

Come on Apple... time to release the fix

I posted earlier that I couldn't conect with my BMW X5. After reading a number of posts I noticed that like others the bluetooth symbol on the Home page wasn't there despite the fact that bluetooth was on. Now, I don't know what I did specifically but I fiddled with the phone for quite a while including restoring it, watching 'you tube' fixes which included a fix that had me pairing my MacBook with the phone by messing around with the switching on and off of the 'personal hotspot' facility and hey presto .. I now have the bluetooth symbol on the home page! I tried for the hundreth time to find and connect to the X5 and it worked! It now syncs with the car telephone kit as it should which includes downloading the phonebook etc.

I wish I could be specific for you all as to what I did exactly but I can't. Really sorry but I thought I should share my good news to give you all hope. Keep fiddling people .. you'll flick an electron at some point and the light bulb will illuminate!

As for Apple .. shame on them for not offering immediate assistance to what is a clear fault, despite my apparent good fortune. Of course, my good luck could run out tomorrow when that electron falls back to it's default position!

I also have the same problem with my Pioneer AVH-P2450BT.

Since upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, it will no longer stream music to my Kenwood DNX9990HD. It also won't stream music to the MyLink infotainment center in a one-month-old 2013 Chevy Camaro.

The Apple rep said that it is because Apple updgraded the Bluetooth spec to the most current version, and that I would have to contact Kenwood and Chevrolet to obtain firmware updates for the Bluetooth in their respective products. The rep also said that they will not be updating iOS 6 for this issue, nor will they support downgrading to iOS 5.1.1.

The situation reminds me of how IBM used to treat PC customers back when IBM was king of the metaphorical PC 'hill'. I couldn't afford IBM's bleeding edge technology back then, and I can't afford Apple's rendition now.

Unless Apple changes their Tune, the 4S will be my first and last Apple phone.
