iOS 6 Bluetooth problems

So I have an iPhone 4S and IPad 2. I have updated them both to iOS 6 and am having Bluetooth problems on both devices... It connects and plays for about a minute and for some odd reason it cuts out every couple seconds/minutes. I have to keep pausing or skipping tracks in order for the music to play comfortably again. This happens to me on BOTH devices and also happens on my buddies iPhone 4S as well.

I never had any of these problems in iOS 5... So does anyone know if it could be a bug or how I can fix it?

I tried to reset network settings in order to fix the Bluetooth issues with my BMW. Still not working and Instead, I can't connect anymore to my wifi at home. It says "incorrect password".

Steve made me love apple, Tim screws it all...

I think I'm gonna switch to Samsung and get rid of my 2011 mbp which ***** (first time I'm so disappointed after at least 4 mb), my Apple TV, my iPhone 4S (no wifi, no bt, no maps) and my iPad....

Hi all,

So I have been having problems with sound degradation on my Liberty Sound WSB500 blue tooth speaker over bluetooth from my iPad on iOS6

I actually sent a returns request to the company I bought the speaker from until I read this thread?!

I have however possibly come up with a temporary workaround (till apple fix this) for those suffering. Well it's worked for me.

The sound degradation appears after a BT drop out (all too common in iOS6), and whilst the unit is still paired it will continue to sound pretty rough after the drop out.

So, firstly I removed the pairing to my iPad (on iOS6).

I then paired with my macbook pro (on Lion), and the sound quality was fine over BT. I unpaired the speaker and MacBook Pro and also tried pairing my IPhone 4 (on iOS 5.1.1), again, sound quality fine, and then unpaired.

I then paired my speaker and iPad again and viola, the audio quality is fine and haven't had a drop out yet, but Iwill repeat the process if (when) I do. I hasten to add that I think pairing and unpairing to 2 separate devices not on iOS6 is probably unnecessary, and I only did it as an experiment. I'm hoping it would work with any device not on iOS6.

I am aware for those of you unable to connect at all that this doesn't help (although you may want to try?), but for those of you with Beats cans, having to put up with cr@ppy sound quality and drop outs I hope this helps at least a bit?!

Come on Apple..... sort this out......

I have the same problem with my NAD Viso 1... disconnects all the time! Worked fine with ios5 however now it *****!

Either Apple of NAD wants to take any responsibility and I do not understand why Apple seem to not care that there are soooo many users who seem to experience this! Yeah yeah, "can not be responsible for third party".. bla bla bla! Fix the problem....

Wow, I'm so glad you made the phone call to Apple so that I don't have to.

I've had the exact same problem with my Bose wireless bluetooth speakers and my 2010 Volvo

bluetooth system. I think if I'd made the call and gotten that response I would have landed up

screaming and shouting on the phone, so it's best that you got the answer that I needed, so thanks.

We are not supported by Apple, therefore neither I nor any of my friends having the same exact problem as you will support them in the future. This is a gross debacle on their part that should have been rectified immediately. Clearly Apple; based on your response from the Apple telephone rep "they will not be updating iOS 6 for this issue, nor will they support downgrading to iOS 5.1.1."; just doesn't care.

I am furious.

Hi.

I'm having the same problem.

Since update to iOS 6 my iPhone 4S (64 GB) is having a lot of problems with Bluetooth connections.

The connection to my Skoda Superb is lost as soon as you try to do something, during calls and music streaming.

The connection to a Lexus CT200h I rented for many weeks was always lost after updating to iOS 6.

And the connection to my new Mini Cooper is lost every few minutes and I can't even synchronize the contacts.

Yesterday my iPhone was replaced at the Genius Bar but the new Phone has the same problems.

My wife's iPhone 4 (32 GB) is working perfectly even under iOS 6.

Does somebody know if there is a solution? Is an update solving this issue planned?

Thanks.

Have a nice week end.

This work-around does the trick for me.

In summary:

Assuming iPhone has already been paired (and not yet connected) with the headset:

1) Turn on BH-905i headset.

2) Turn on Bluetooth on the iPhone.

3) In the same Bluetooth menu on the iPhone, select Nokia BH-905i (or any other headset you want to use). This will make the iPhone connect to the headset.

4) Turn off Bluetooth on the iPhone.

5) Wait a few seconds before turning on Bluetooth on the iPhone. Make sure headset does not connect automatically to the iPhone.

6) Press the play button on the headset (not the iPod player on iPhone). This should cause the headset to connect to the iPhone.

ElCet,

I have also had the same problem. Recently got a new Subaru. Bluetooth connects with my stereo maybe 1 in 3 tries. Says device is not in range, when I am sitting next to it.

Can listen to Music for a short time, before Bluetooth connection cuts out and stereo says no device. Also, try to skip a song using my steering wheel control and it automaticlaly cuts out.

Getting pretty frustrated to say the least.... No fix yet?

For those of us with telephone call quality issues who need a resolutions faster than Apple will provide one (if ever): I purchased this $40 Motorola TX500 bluetooth car speakerphone that clips to the driver's visor, and it's actually a better situation than my previous navigation-system-only method. It uses the bluetooth speaker for Siri and for phone calls, and everyone who couldn't understand me after iOS6 screwed up my call quality can now hear me perfectly, plus Siri is about a billion times more accurate. Music still gets routed directly to my navigation system and never to the speakerphone.

It ***** to add another device for this... but in the end this works better than my Pioneer navi ever did for phone call quality and Siri accurary. And the iPhone can recognize both at the same time, so there's no conflict. Again, calls go to the speaker, music to the stereo. If a call accidentally goes to the stereo, I can see both bluetooth devices as sources on the iphone to tap back and forth between them.

I understand Motorola has other units that are higher end that add more features, but this was all I needed. Good luck!

This is exactly the same issue I am having with my Alpine CDE-HD137BT. After the upgrade, all that happens is that the iPhone will connect to my stereo. Apart from that, no Artist / Song / Album information transmits, and I am now unable to use my "hands free" controls on my driving wheel to control the iPhone. I'm not even sure that Alpine provides a way to update this stereo. Good thing I just put it in about 4 months ago. I sure feel like an as-*&#@...

Ah, Apple. You don't gaffe much. But when you do, it stinks.

Hi guys, here's a list of the hardware that i have, iOS device, iOS version installed on the iDevices and the results of bluetooth connectivity.

- Dr Dre Wireless Headphones

- iPhone 3GS on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPhone 4 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPhone 4S on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPhone 5 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPad 2 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPad 3 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

Now for the results:

- Every iDevices listed up there USED TO WORK perfectly on iOS 5 except iPhone 5 because this iDevice didn't exist.

- iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and the iPad 2 all WORK FLAWLESSLY with the Dr Dre Wireless Headphones even on iOS 6 ... my guess on that is because the hardware on those iDevices support bluetooth 2.1 + EDR only (Apple SPECS).

- iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPad 3 all DON'T WORK with the Dr Dre Wireless Headphones on iOS 6 ... my guess on that is because the hardware on those iDevices support bluetooth 4.0 (Apple SPECS).

It would seem that Apple is not using the same HARDWARE DRIVER and this seems to the basis of the problems with bluetooth headphone (i can't confirm anything for you people with car problems but BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES i can confirm since i have several brands with all the same results).

The problem that i have and i'm pretty sure most of you have with bluetooth headphones is connectivity DROPS or sound THAT STOPS PLAYING although the iPhone STILL THINK that it's sending sound to your headphones BUT no sound can be heard.

I will send this BUG report to Apple and see what happens ... and if you have the same problems ... why don't you send my bug report as well unless you guys think it's not clear enough or not well documented.

If i turn the iPhone bluetooth off and then back on WITHOUT touching the headphones it works for a couple of minutes and then it stops again.
