Logic Pro keep playing and WILL NOT STOP!

Hey All, I am suffering the same problem in mountain lion but I think I have found a work around. It is not perfect but it works. I am using a Mackie control ipad app. When Logic locks up and I can stop it or doing anything with the mouse the Stop on the ipad app still stops Logic and appears to free it up. Far from perfect but at least I am not wasting time waiting for it to come back to life.

I am having this same problem, Logic just won't stop sometimes for way too long, I have to force quit it to stop. Only had this problem when I upraged to latest OS from Apple so how is this a "Hardware" issue : { Any suggestions????

It isn't a hardware problem...

It's an issue in OS X itself that can... though not always, affect Logic... as well as other applications.

We are currently awaiting an update to OS X to resolve this issue...

Try to change the desktop using the 2 fingers gesture then to go back to the desktop where logic is...

Same here. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, wasn't happening before. Massive lag. Massively dissapointed. How can this issue still be occuring after 6 months of people writing about it? I am giving it one more month before I move to pro-tools - have been using logic for 18 years.

Can you not go back to Snow Leopard until such time as ML is updated to resolve this issue with Logic (and other apps)?

Did you make a backup clone prior to updating?

no didn't do a back up beofre I upgraded, plus I never checked the blogs so this is my bad. I could down grade but it's a total pain in the *** to do it. Still considering doing it.

yes I had no problem unitl I upgrade the OS which I just did about 3 weeks ago. I too have been running Logic since it was Notator by Emagic. Very disapointed in Apple and how they have not fixed this issue.

While it is a real pain in the buttocks to do so... given the aggravation being caused by not doing so... it might just be worthwhile the time and irritation to do so

Having said that, what is the betting that the moment you do so, Apple release an update to OS X that fixes the problem!

this has been driving me nuts too --- seems to have something to do with altering parameters on some plugins while Logic is playing..

but BESSINOX, above, is right --- seems that when Logic is frozen and wont respond, i just goto the Launchpad (by moving my mouse to bottom corner of the screen), Logic then will immediately catch up with itself.

kinda SOLVED. for real.

i've made the switch from 32bit to 64bit mode permanent - since doin this the constant 'locking up' problerm has disappeared

this is using up to date drivers with 10.8.2 on a 16GB Retina Macbook

I keep getting posts regarding this issue in my email and thought I would shed some light on the problem.

It's not a Logic problem. It's Mountain Lion issue! As I have stated before, it probably has something to do with Window Control Class within ML. It's an Event control issue in the code! Apple obviously doesn't regard as a major issue, and therefore hasn't fixed it.

SOLUTION - Go back to Lion or Snow Leopard. I went back to Lion, everything is fine!
