iMessage won't work after iOS 6 upgrade
Since I've installed iOS 6, it seems my iMessage will not work correctly.
Any suggestions on how I could fix this?

Well, hopefully apple fixes the problem soon. This is really aggravating.
Seems like iOS 6 is wrong to others
It worked for me after changing AppStore country to united state then changing
Back to my default country after activating iMessage
And all works fine now ;)
i am having the same problem. i just upgraded to ios 6 on my iphone 4 and imessenger is fine to send and receive but when i go to settings and try to register it with my apple ID i get an error that the username and password are not correct, although i am usung the apple ID fine in app store for example. anyone knows what this is?
also, i was wondering, while setting up my iphone after the upgrade to ios 6, in one of teh steps when i started using the phone, it asked for teh apple ID password to do soemthing related to icloud, imessenger and facetime. it also gave the option on the phone screen to "skip this step" which i did, i skiped the stem and thought if i wanted to i can go back and do it manually from the settings any time. i think it was something related to downloading new features for the icloud. i messenger and facetime.
could this have been the case? but i mean if i had the option to "skip the step" it means that it is not something drastic and can always be done manually later.
anyone has feedback?
Update on the iMessage debacle from my end. I did as some suggested and changed country location. It accepted that and got till the stage where it says "verifying" my account and then I got a message that the server could not process my request at this time.
So fail!
The wait continues.....
is there a way to request a fix to apple?
Swim Girl, I don't know. I thought by nature of forums such as this, they would be aware of the problem.
yes I also saw that I can send to myself, but no one else...what should I do!? Apple needs to fix this issue
asap
EvaPerson, I thought so too. They should be able to see that EVERYONE is having issues and FIX it
It seems all I had to do was turn on iMessage in my settings and its working. Its only been 5 minutes, but (cross my fingers) hopefully it continues to work 🙂
Trust me. Apple is NOT going to fix this because they don't care about their customers. The only thing they care about is money. My iPad is an utter PEICE of *hit now! Just like everyone else. I can not send messages. I have high speed Internet. Apple absolutely *****. They are the superior technology but you have to accept what ever they give you because if you switch your just getting worse technology. Now that the head devil is dead, all of the little demons have to screw us over with PEICE OF CRAP OS UPDATES!! Apple *****. The end. I now officially hate my iPad. Thanks apple! You suck ******* dick!
I shut off iMessage from settings then launched the app which prompted me for my apple I'd. Asks which email, verifies opens the app, then instantly minimizes to the tray where it repeats the instant "disappear" to the tray. App is fd. Figures you can't uninstall a built in app.
I haven't been to successfully turn on or turn off iMessages and none of the "fixes" that people have tried work for me.
Crap just noticed home sharing is not working in the music app as well. Error is: unable to turn on home sharing. Not sure if this is related or not to my iMessage issue.
Just did a reset all settings and iMessage works again.
I have an iPod Touch 4th gen and up until recently my iMessage was working just fine. My imessage has been coming and going since I updated to iOS 6. I can't send or receive messages. My wifi/internet and everything else works absolutely fine. I have done every freaking reset and it's not working today for hours now. Please help! I really regret "upgrading" because it feels like a total downgrade. I hope Apple fixes this soon, if not I would really reconsider finding a way to get to iOS 5.
