Calendar not working after upgrade to iOS 6

After updating my iPhone 4s to iOS 6 last night the calendar is broken for want of a better word. Adding iCloud, Exchange or Gmail calendars does nothing. I can only occasionally try to add an event (most of the time the + symbol is missing). If I get to that point it doesn't keep the name of the event and then crashes.

I tried a hard reset and then resorted to a restore but the same issues persisted. I can set the calendars to on in settings but nothing will make them appear in the calendar.

I also can't add my exchange account at all. It verifies and then disappears.

Any ideas? My iPad 2 is fine!

the m.google.com sync helped me already with iOS5. under ios6 it unfortunately does not help.

very annoying the ios6. i can only edit the main calendar on the iphone5, not the others. everything works fine under ios5.1.1
I find only one improvement in ios6: it searches for contacts in the notes. otherwise it is only steps back. calendar sync and battery unload problems.

i wish to downgrade to 5.1.1. it was a big fault to ubgrade to ios6!

ios6 = sos

My iPhone and iPad are both running iOS 6.0.1. The calendars are synced via iTunes to Calendar on 10.8. (OS X does sync calendars to iCloud, but my iPad and iPhone do not.)

Both yesterday and today, event reminders popped up on my iPad and iPhone for week-old events (Thanksgiving and Black Friday). These are events in a subscribed holiday calendar, and the reminders are set to go off the day before at 9 AM. The reminders went off correctly on OS X (last week). These are the first anomalies I have noticed with calendar reminders.

After upgrading my husband's IPad to iOS 6.0.1 today his list of ical google calendars that I share with him, disappeared. They were there before the upgrade and gone after. They are not showing up on his IPhone 4S and my Iphone 5 doesn't let me inivite gmail attendees that are synced to my IPhone 5. The syncing works betweek IPhone 5, Google Account and MacBook Pro for calendar events, but if I am entering calendar events on my IPhone 5, there is no invite attendee button. For now, I am having to log onto my Gmail account to invite attendees, but this should work from the Phone app itself. Previously had Android devices and asked before taking the plunge to purchase all Apple devices if they were compatible with Google Calendars, Contacts, and Mail. I was told they were, but not being able to see all google calendars on Apple devices or invite attendees from the Calendar App on IPhone are serious limitations, making the sync feature not usable for me. I have no intention of using ICloud. What is the problem?

Ok so i have seen so many people complain about this and rightfully so so i think it is time to give the fix that has worked for me and a few buddies of mine that had the same issue.

ok so a week or so ago i noticed i wasnt able to add or edit calandar entries andwhenever i tried viewing them the little bullet under the date would disapear...then it would come back. I did the same thing apple says to do which is to reinstall ios and so on which whats the point of having icloud if you have to deal with not having all your backed up stuff available to be restored....if i wanted to have a copy stored somewhere other than my phone i would just use my pc but i dont wanna lug around a heavy laptop or in my case an almost 4 grand machine when it was brand new so ya heres what i did:

1. you must have a jailbroken iphone....this is a perfect example why allowing more user access helps save time and money with support not to mention frustration on the part of the customer who usually gets told their phone is dead bring it in so a genius can tell u the same thing lol.

2. open ifile or load ifile if you dont have it already and open it.

3. go to var/mobile/library/calandar and delete everything listed. In my case there were 4 files. one was labeled extras and the rest were sqlitedb files. Just delete them. dont ask why cause if u do u obviously dont want this solved lol.

4. go into icloud and delete ur account and i selected dele the stuff off my phone since i already had it stored on icloud.

5. reboot ur iphone.

6. go back into settings and readd icloud and BOOM you calandars will be back up and running again. I never realized how many of my friends have birthdays this month too haha ya its been that long since i have seen my ical actually work. After hours of frustration at my phone getting ballz hot i decided to figure it out for myself cause no one elses solution was the right one for me and i appreciate the posts people made for sure but mine is for the person that cant disable their ical and when they try their phone stays on the spinning windows daying its being removed foreverrrrrrrrrr.

deleting the sqldb files removed all the ical info stored not the actual ical app. Once your resyncd to icloud ur phone auto pulls every single bit that was removed due to being corrupted back and sets it to function properly and so far im about 10 for 10 so i think its safe to say this can solve many peoples issue and i hope it does! spread the word guys.....now its time to go back to work. be safe and stay warm!

I was able to get my iTunes calendar sync working again and with a correct set of calendars that coincide with whats in iCal by shutting down iCal & iTunes, going into ~/Library/Calendars and moving 'Calendar Cache' out of the way and then firing up iCal again, at which time it rebuilds the Calendar cache. Then iTunes displays the correct set and syncs correctly with the iPhone/iPad.
