I can't download Time Warner Cable - Roadrunner email on any device only when I'm connected to Time Capsule...

Just recently, my email clients quit downloading email from my Time Warner Roadrunner email account. I know that all my settings are correct because I can take my computers to a different network, turn wifi off on my phones, or plug my computer directly into the cable modem and still download my emails.

It appears that there is some sort of firewall in the Time Capsule blocking email downloads. Something else that is odd is that I can't log into webmail while I'm on the wifi network. I did try to access my email on webmail thru kproxy.com and was successful while on the wifi network.

It is my understanding that the firewall in the Time Capsule doesn't restrict particular sites. But it sure seems like that is what is happening.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks in advance.

There is no access to the firewall settings on the TC at least for ipv4.. although the ipv6 maybe allowed. It still should not block any outgoing request.

What cable modem do you have? If it is a router.. and it sounds like it is.. then the TC should be in bridge mode.. I suspect you have a double NAT.. although why the situation recently changed I don't know.

More info.. mode the cable modem is working in and the TC??

The cable modem is the default cable modem provided by TWC. It has a single ethernet out that goes directly into my TC.

The bottom of the modem says the Trade name is Ambit and the Model No is U10C018.80

My cable modem was replaced on 9/7 and the last date that I was able to download email thru the wifi at home was on 9/12. The cable modem was replaced because the old one was losing connectivity thru the day. It was short intermittent losses and finally got to the point that I was losing the internet for hours at a time.

So since the cable modem is the most recent hardware change, I thought for sure that it would be related to the cable modem.

I thought that maybe a setting got messed up in the TC and did a reset back to factory defaults and reset my network. But that didn't do anything to help.

I've decided that I'm going to exchange my cable modem and see if that works. The other thing I'm going to try is to set up a wireless network with a different wireless router (not TC).

Any more thoughts?
