Don´t get me wrong- this modifications may reduce the Shutdown-Time- but they don´t fix the Issues with the unsuccsessfull termination of the related Processes.😢
Imho it´s like eating Headache-Pills again Headaches caused by hitting the head with a hammer.😉

Apple should (must) fix the Issues, then You don´t need the .plist-Pills anymore.😁

Yup, you're right. I also agree that apple must fix these issues, at least in 10.8.4 beacuse its a pain in the *** to see a mac shutting down in 15-20 secs and all Windows 8 users around me are like "ooooooo booooo" 😐. But for now gotta take these .plist pills to make my life easier until Dr. Apple suggests me some medicines 😝

And "headache caused again by hitting head with a hammer" lol 😁

I too had the same problem with startup and shutdowns, my mac pro with a new fresh SSD usually boots in like 8-10 seconds from the apple logo and pinwheel start, over time i noticed it growing slower and slower on boot and shutdown, and the solution was easy, #1 after the update to 10.8.4 I noticed that the UBD framework was going batshit and Activity monitor pegged it at 100% cpu most of the time, If i renamed the privateframework I could get it to work, (once) then it would not boot, (important saftey tip) , long story short I did two things,

#1 cleaned up my LaunchDaemons, removed alot of crap i dont need or ever will use.

#2 I downloaded OnyX from the macupate and let it do all the cleaning and maintenance tabs, and walah, shutdowns are like 4 seconds and bootup is flat at 5 after pinwheel start, its nicer and doesnt freak out,

also every now and then run a disk utility permission repair.

Hope this helps you all as it did me.

btw heres a link for the app Onyx from Macupdate
