ios 6 and calendar reminders for shared calendars?

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Shared Calendar Alerts>Off

My Shared Calendar Alerts are switched off in Settings as mentioned above, but I am still getting notifications on the iPhone 4S. I tried unsharing and resharing the calendars at both ends.

I am having the same issue. Sorry I can't be of any help, but any suggestions from anyone would be great!

I'm still receiving notifications (no pop-up in main screen) of the changes in the shared calendars after switching off the alert.

Me too. Notifications on both mine and wife's iphone4s even with option switched off.

I'm having the same issue with my wife's iCloud calender. I'm getting her reminders even though this setting is off.

I'll jump in too and hope someone from Apple see it and helps us out. All notifications are OFF but still receive the "unwanted" invitation.

My husband and I are having the same issue with our calendars and so are my brother and his wife between their shared calendars. Apple NEEDS to come up with a solution because I have to "OK" every appointment my husband makes, and he's in sales so he makes A LOT, and it is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!

yup, me too. Shared alerts switched off but they come through anyway. Very frustrating.

I'm having this issue as well on IOS 6. I have another iPhone running iOS 5.1.1, and it does not show alerts when alerts are created, modified, or deleted in shared calendars. I have Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Shared Calendar Alerts>Off

iOS 5.1.1 did not have the "Shared Calendar Alerts" setting. The only setting that it has is "New Invitation Alerts," which is turned on. I want to see invitation alerts for the events that I'm invited to, but I don't want to be alerted every time someone who shares his/her calendar with me makes a change in his/her calendar as long as I'm not invited to that event, I don't need to be alerted to it. It seems that iOS 5.1.1 had the "Shared Calendar Alerts" turned off by default, and there was no way to turn it on. Somone decided to create this feature, but they did not implement the "off" toggle correctly, and this feature is always "on" in iOS 6.

Another one of my pet pieves is when I get alerted about an event in someone's calendar based on the alert they set up for themselves. I don't care if someone who shared his/her calendar with me is going to have a dentist appointment in 30 min. Why should I be alerted to this? There's not even a setting to turn this off!

Before iCloud came out last year, my wife and I used Google calendar, and the alerts in my calendar would never appear on her devices, or vice versa. Why can't Apple figure out such trivial tasks?

I agree sirozha. Apple needs to get it together with the calendars. This is extremely annoying.

I have this too, since ios6 and Mountain Lion on the Mac shared with my wife but Lion still on my office Mac.

Problem here too. OSX 10.8.2 (using Google Calendar via web, not Mac Calendar App); iPhone 4s, iOS 6.0 (using iOS Calendar App, looking at my own Google calendar, and sharing wife's and daughter's Google calendars.)

Hi All. I had this problem also and I did a couple of things that solved this problem.

At the first moment I found a configuration inside the iPhone calendar application (not the settings). It is an option where you can select which calendars you want to show in your iPhone Calendar. You go to the main screen of the Calendar application and click the top left button named "Calendars". This will show you all calendars and you can select all those you want to show in your calendar or not. The problem was partially fixed, because some of the calendars that I have unchecked, just didn't obey me and keep getting checked back. :-)

Then after digging the web, the second thing I found was this page -> https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect

You log in with your google account and it will show you all calendars available in your google account, yours and the shared ones. You just do the same thing, uncheck those you don't want to sync with your iPhone and be happy forever with alerts for only your schedule. This seems to be the same thing in the Calendar app, but works pretty well.
