session time outs after security questions

i updated to ios 6 yesterday. today i tried downloading/installing a free app. i was asked my apple id password. dialog message "improve apple id security" to help ensure the security of your Apple ID, choose three security questions and answers. again, i was asked my apple id password. then, Security Info screen appeared. i selected and answered three security questions. clicked on done. this message appeared "Your session has timed out. Try again." i tried several times but same scenario happened.

yesterday, there was an option button NOT NOW at improve apple id security dialog, today its only CANCEL and CONTINUE.

please fix so i can successfully download app.

This happened to me on my iPad. Went into settings to iTunes and App Stores,, clicked on my AppeID, signed out and signed back in. Then I trid to download the app again, went through the security settings, and it worked this time. Try this to see if it will work for you.

thanks benfanklin! i went Settings then iTunes and App Stores, clicked on my Apple ID and signed out. i went back to App Store, downloaded an app, i was asked for my Apple ID and password again then asked security settings (3 security questions). after entering my infos, app successfully downloaded.

After signing out from Settings-> iTunes and App Stores, try not to sign back in immediately. Try downloading an app and see if you are asked for your Apple ID, password and security questions. Sign in and answer the questions. Hopefully, your app will be downloaded successfully as I have experienced. 🙂

Hey i thank you guys for your answers to the question but i've tried all of them and after answering the questions the session still times out. i hope this isnt because of the new IOS 6 because i just upgraded as well. really hope you guys can help me. thanks for your time.

Exactly same problem on my iPad.

Asked to input Security Question but always says TIME OUT,

No matter how fast I input answers.

Frustrating.

im going to try to buy an app on my laptop and sync my ipod intead of wifi, but if thats the only solution im going to be ******. i dont want to have to sync every time i want a new app or song! 😠

ok so igot stuff on itunes and synced my ipod with no problem but now that ive tried to buy via wireless now it says that an unknown error has occured. today has not been my day!

What is wrong with Apple tech....this is obviously a bug in the IOS 6.0 the only work around is to buy online using your windows or apple computer and then auto-sync this is shameful..did not have this much problems with my android phone.....wow...I just bought my first apple IPAD 3 and this happens...apple so far ***** in my book especially with how Itunes is tied around your neck

Thank you for the solution to my apple headache! You are a life saver!!! Just wanted to clarify for those who are reading these posts, use the settings icon (gear box) icon on your iPad to access the iTunes/app (bottom left column) then do as befranklin says, log off then log on again. This worked for me. I did try to log in and off my apple ID through appleid.apple.com and even though I could log on and off, it did not fix the problem where doing it though the settings icon did. Good luck all!!!
