Reinstate Google Maps or lose a loyal Apple user

I for one will not be upgrading my iPhone4 or iPad2 to iOS6 or getting a iPhone5 until Google Maps is restored as was. Apple should simply admit that it is has got it completely wrong by introducing a substandard substitute for the exisiting reliable, accurate and high quality mapping. If it wasn't broken there was no need to fix it. As a loyal Apple user, I am deeply disappointed and Apple risk losing my custom.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), iCal and iCloud

Bye. This forum is for support questions not for your rants.

This is no rant. If Apple doesn't provide straight forward access to the feedback page you highlight then the discussion forums are the only place I found to air and get support for the disastrous move by the company. Apple make enough money from the customers with there great products, they don't need to enter an area like mapping which they are obviously incapable of delivering a satisfactory service. There have been numerous reports of mistakes, errors, poor resolution and bad cartography in the UK alone.

Since Steve Jobs has passed on, how would we know what he would have done?

I think all you people who are moaning and whining must have empty lives. There are loads of great Map Applications in the App Store. This is no Disaster. The sky hasn't fallen. You weren't just diagnosed with cancer. Your car didn't blow up. You weren't in a horrible car accident. Your house didn't burn down. No one you love died. Put things in perspective.

Really, Google Maps is that central to your well-being? Really?

Apple is constantly working on improving their new Maps service, but until it reaches the level of finesse necessary to be usable, take a look at some alternatives.

Bing Maps offers a very good maps service with Bird's Eye, a feature similar to Flyover. It's arguably better than Google Maps.

MapQuest also has a very nice app available.

If you want a YouTube app, Google has made a very improved version available on the App Store.
