iPad VPN doesn't work after iOS 6 upgrade

iPad 3 VPN (PPTP) just spins "connecting"
What I have tried that did NOT help:

1. rebooting (about 10 times)
2. changing WiFi connections - many different ones including 3G. The WiFi works but the VPN doesn't.
3. Changing the date and time to manual and advancing the date x 1 yr.

4. Putting in a new VPN connection (same old settings that previously worked - before iOS 6 upgrade)

5. Turning ON airplane mode.

Would appreciate any help or suggestions. Anything to save a trip to the A store.

This worked for my iPhone 5 (after an upgrade from a 4) also.

Perhaps Apple/IOS can zero out all network settings after a major upgrade, instead of just Wifi ones? It would save us (and Apple) a lot of grief.

Sounds like I've got the same problem as you.. I'm running mountain lion and using ivpn (a Gui for the os x inbuilt vpn server) I can use vpn with a mac, but using the exact same settings with an ios6 device (iphone or ipad) the iphone always fails to connect..

Did you find a solution?

I'm disappointed the report that resetting network setting seems to fix the issue. Very much a microslob band aid. It's not really a fix but it seems to have allowed me to connect to the VPN now.

Installing the 6.1 iOS update seemed to solve this issue for me. I can now leave cellular turned on (even though I don't have an account) and successfully VPN in to work now.
