No Siri on iPad 3

Well, as I said, at least I am not the only one stumped. Thanks for your help. I know that as I was downloading the update, I had some connectivity problems. Maybe it did not download properly yet still installed. I'll keep fiddling.

Sorry, missed the mute. Nope I have sounds. I assume that I would loose sound entirely for that to the the problem. I think I had a bad install. Again, thanks for your help. I'll try the reinstall later tonight.

oh theres siri on the ipad three but maybe its just not working cuz one of my friends has an iapd 3 and it works on hers. ur having the same problem like me right now, except i have an ipad 2.

Thewid, I'm not sure it can be done now. I've been reading that once users move to iOS 6.0 that the iOS 5.x version cannot be restored (only Devs who used the beta version of iOS6 can do that).

I'm not 100% sure on that, but the first question would be - did you back up your iPad to iCloud or your PC/Mac? If iCloud, then you can try this: http://tinyurl.com/9k6nwvc. Do make a current backup before doing anything.

Nope, no back up as I did not expect problems...

Oh dear. Well, always do backup your ipad to iTunes or iCloud anyway. You never know when you may need it. ;-) Sorry to hear this. I guess you could do a backup now, then totally reset your ipad and start fresh to see if that helps. Then add back in any apps, etc.

Ok, so late answer, but finally an answer. I got the iPad from my school. They set it up and in the profile, disallowed Siri. So they are looking into allowing her. But they think that it may require a wipe...

At least I got an answer.

Whew. That had me going for a while. Glad to hear it was something outside our control.

I had a very similar problem - iPad 3, upgraded to iOS 6, but no Siri. When I say "no Siri" I mean no option to set up or enable Siri under Settings - > General or otherwise. Siri was not installed with iOS 6, even though the upgrade appeared to complete without incident. I have seen postings by a few other users who have had the same problem.

I went through a complete set of troubleshooting steps with an Apple tech on the phone, including doing a complete reset of all iPad settings. Still, no Siri. In the end, I had to completely restore my iPad to the factory defaults to get Siri on the device by connecting the iPad to my computer and selecting "Restore" under the Version heading. When the factory wipe and restore completed, I had to set my iPad up from scratch under a completely new profile, not from my old backup.

The Apple tech's only explanation was that it must have been a failure of the updgrade to iOS 6. Now I am going to have to re-install, organize and set up all of my apps again.

I also have the same problem...I already confirmed and verify that I got the iPad 3rd gen and still no signs of Siri... :(

I have iPad 3, only just turned it on, no Siri, downloading iOS 6 now. Will post my result. Can't wait to ask Siri how to get rid of a body.

Ok, iOS 6 downloded and installed. Full reboot also completed. Siri option available on start up. Now working and thankfully he gave some good suggestions on where to dump my body....I've opted for the local dump or resevoir.
