iPhone 5 yellow tint screen!?

Hey, well, as I am fully aware yet not expecting this for the iPhone 5, but yeah, I've got the yellow tint screen. Not the patches, the whole screen makes white look like ivory, and I don't know about you guys, but my retina/retinas in my eye/s do not make anything look ivory/yellow.

Does anyone else have this issue?

+ Do I take it to apple for a replacement screen?

Just my luck really 😟

Okay so now I am in the same line, got iPhone 5s 32 GB and could clearly see a yellow tint on the screen. Tried upgrading to 8.4, turning on/off grayscale options, off/on auto brightness; but nothing changed the yellow tint. I don't have any confidence on the theory of glue that would disappear with usage and time.

It would be more informative if users complaining issues add a line of their model, is it 32GB or even 16GB and 64GB are also the same?

I am trying to get in touch with Apple support and would probably replace the handset and if nothing changes may be I will drop the idea of 32GB model.

Thanks,

GN

I contacted Apple support and sure enough they looped me through futile sequence of resetting the phone to a factory reset. The senior adviser Blake was initially helpful with the suggestion it could be color characteristics of phone and at the most I shall get the handset replaced "again." The best part of the conversation was when senior adviser rudely ended my chat; comfortably shunning the basic etiquette of customer support.

First, issue with handset, and then rude attitude of Apple support. I just hope this combination is only with my case !?

Thanks,

GN

As in the past, let your screen burn in for a few days. This typically goes away and is not unusual for the first phones made. It's typically the glue settling in after the screen is used for the first time. If after a week or so, the screen is still not right, then make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your Apple Store, but I wouldn't be concerned with one of the first units delivered in the world.

I have a heavy yellow tint to my iPhone 5 display. My iPhone 4 display was always the perfect neutral temperature to my eyes. Side by side, the temperature of my iPhone 4 display is much more pleasing and natural than the display of my iPhone 5. I'll also mention that the 3GS I had before the 4 came from the factory with a good cool temperature, but after a couple display defects popped up, I ended up with awful yellow tinted replacement displays. I don't expect the color of my iPhone 5 display to 'cool off', so I will be checking back at the Apple store in a few days, compare my iPhone 5 to the floor models, and see what I can find out.

I have a suggestion regarding this. I also noticed a slight yellow tint to my iphone 5 screen in relation to the colour tint of my iphone 4 screen, which was distinctly bluer. After playing around with brightness/auto brightness for a while, I think I may have found a possible solution.

Try setting the brightness to about half way and then activate auto brightness, in a moderately lit room. Then, hold your phone near a very bright light until the auto brightness goes right up to the top. Bring the phone back into a normally lit room, and let the auto brightness come back down again. Now, this may well be entirely phychological, but I tried this and afterwards perceived the screen to be closer to white than it was previously. I wondered if doing this auto brightness process somehow resets the screens colour hue/white balance?

Admittedly, this may be nonsense, but I'm putting the idea out there in case it has some merit. Of course, I may simply have become accustomed to the slightly yellow tint after using the phone for a few hours today. Still, it's worthy of consideration!

I'd take it back. My iPad 3 screen was yellow, got it exchanged for another from a different batch (DK) that was noticeably clearer and white. I don't buy the story that it's all because of the new glue curing process, there are definitely other factors here, and quality control problems. If it's all because of the glue curing, then how come there's such a huge difference between 2 new screens? They should all look the same.
