A friend just updated his iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and now the texts he sends to my e-mail address are sent as a .txt attachment (titled "text_0.txt") instead of in the body of the e-mails. This is a problem, since I can't open the .txt attachments on my Kindle Keyboard. Any ideas how he can get the messages back in the body of the e-mails I receive from him?

My wife ugraded her 4S to iOS 6 and is also experiencing the same problem. I'm assuming no one has found a fix yet. I think I'll hold off until Apple works out all the bugs. I've never had an issue with installing any iOS update so what in the wrold went wrong with this one?
I am also disturbed by this development. I use text to e mail and visa versa all the time and until now loved it.
Now you have to open it in a reading pane and then have to back out to the message to reply.
Apple, please help to resolve this problem ASAP!
I haven't updated my iPad yet because I'm afraid how it will effect how I'm used to using it.

My friend's with Verizon as well.
I am with ATT and my text to email and email to text is working fine.
It sounds like this is an issue with Verizons e-mail clashing with something in iOS 6.
When you send these messages, it sends from (phonenumber)@vizpix.com *or something like that.
Something on that server seems to be the problem.
That seems like a plausible explanation. Just sent a message to Verizon support to ask about the issue, and I suggest you all do the same so they, at the very least, are aware of the problem.
I called Verizon today, they said it was the first they've heard of the issue. They read on their site there were a few others that had the same problem. The tech I talked to tried to send an email from her text and got the same result as we are. I'll update you if I hear back

FREE VZW MSG-DO NOT REPLY: The issue with the text messages on iOS 6 has been escalated to Apple. I will contact you when I have more information.
I have the same issue. I cannot read Texts sent to my e-mail account from my family's iPhone 4s/5 iOS 6 Verizon devices when using my Samsung Galaxy SIII (also Verizon).
I need to access the iOS 6 device originated e-mails on my laptop in order to read the text_0.txt attachments.
Does anyone have a solution?

Just had this issue with tonight. She sent me texts and they showed up as emails from (her number)@pm.sprint.com
No message or subject, just an email with a text_0.txt attatchment which is a massive pain because you can't open them on the iPhone and have to get to a computer to read the texts. We both have sprint and have never had this issue until tonight. Please fix this soon. It now takes me about 10 minutes to be able to read a text at home and I can't read them at all if I'm out.
