How do I get Facebook Birthdays out of my Calendar?

Yesterday I downloaded IOS 6 and signed in to Facebook. When i did, i turned OFF sync Facebook events to the calendar. And turned ON sync contact info to contacts. When i checked the calendar thismorning I saw my Facebook friends birthdays in there. What happened? And how can i fix this?
