Yellow tint on iPhone 5

Anyone else have an awful yellow tint on their iPhone 5 screen? My whites look cream and the eBay app in particular (being yellow) looks awful.

I've upgraded from the iPhone 4 and I would for sure prefer that screen over this. Crisp whites I'm surely missing.

Black 16gb iPhone 5 here btw

Now that you mention it, it does look like a monitor on warm settings.

But one of the sales points of the 5 was its better color replication. It's supposed to be the full sRGB spectrum. Which seems a false claim if it can't do white. And even more silly if 3 different iPhones will each show the same color differently.

Next they will be building cream apples stores with hold tinted glass :-)

Ps. Am interested to hear what happens to others who takes theirs back. Also interested to know if anyone's fixes itself (read about a guy who turned up the brightness of his 4s for a week, which made the yellow-ness go away)

I thought the screen on my 5 was fine until I compared it to my 4s.

I've bought the last three models on the first day and all have been yellow tinted. None of them have got better with time. All were take back after a few weeks. All the replacements were, luckily, blue tinted.

It seems that I haven't learnt the lesson and waited for production to settle. Then again, it may be the luck of the draw. However, I'm sure there are bluer screens out there.

Just got back from the apple store.

Well i was 10min early so they sent me away as they were 30min behind on all reservations... Couldn't move in the shop it was that busy so i decided to leave.

I don't know whats happened to apple in the past year. Problems with my new macbook air, now my new iphone 5 and the store service is utter rubbish, which it never used to be.

Will rebook an iphone specific appointment now for mid week lunch time to avoid the Saturday rush. I think the first Saturday on iphoene 5 release was a bad idea. I couldn;t even see if any of the display iphons had the yellow tint issue it was that busy.

Yup- exactly same issue here. I compared it to my 4s just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind.

Its one thing to have a warmer tone (my 4s has a cooler tone) but when whites and grey are noticably yellowish, that's a problem.

I'm going to wait it out this weekend (both to avoid lines and to see if the display changes a bit as mentioned), and then take it to the store and compare it a floor model. If there is a difference, I'm going to try to do an exchange.

On top of that, I have scuffgate issues. It came new with a minor (bronze in color) scrate below one of the antenna lines.

I will say this for my situation :

The yellow tint has noticeably faded over the past 24 hours. I turned up the brightness all the way, and have used it as normal. My whites look white, grey is a little on the warm side. My blues still look a little purple, but I think it's an adjustment as a user coming from a cool tone screen to warm tone screen on iPhone 5. It generallu goong to be one pr the other. I'm pretty happy with it at the moment and hope it continues to neutralize a bit more.

Guys keep my updated if any of you go to the apple store.

My genius appointment isn't until Firday (Earliest date). Doing a bit of research online, i don't think this yellow issue will go away. It seems it only goes away if its a glue issue and that is represented by spots of yellow, not an entire yellow tint screen.

I've had my brightness on full for a day now and although it looks better, if i lower it i still get the same yellow issues. Full brightness is too harsh on my eyes in the dark enviroments also, or i'd just keep it on that.
