Yellow tint on iPhone 5

Anyone else have an awful yellow tint on their iPhone 5 screen? My whites look cream and the eBay app in particular (being yellow) looks awful.

I've upgraded from the iPhone 4 and I would for sure prefer that screen over this. Crisp whites I'm surely missing.

Black 16gb iPhone 5 here btw

Seem OK at the store but when i got home the tint was still there !!!!

Took me another Hour to restore from backup

I've swapped my iPhone 5 3 times at the Apple Store and the screen is still very noticiably warm compared to an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S screen. The lights in the store make the difference hard to decern, so they'll give you a hard time about the issue, but it's quite clear when under different lights.

Since there's a year on the warrenty, I'll wait a few months and see if newer batches look better and then try to swap it again. Good times…

That's the story that every point of contact in the store will tell you. I had the same issue last year with the 4S and heard the same story—I told them that this year. At the end of the day, colours are colours, they're either reasonably accurate or not. Warmth and tint are issues that need to be adjusted on anything that is displayed—I explaied that to them as well. It's not a strictly subjective matter, if the colour is too warm, then it's too warm.

When you show that you know that issues can be escilated then they work with you a little more. At the end of the day it's not calibrated correctly.

I still had my I4 and retina ipad that displayed white normally. I used this image:

Instead of 5 of the squares displaying white, light blue, and purple. All of them were yellowish. It was the best way to show the problem in the lighting conditions. The person helping me agreed 100% and swapped it out. I was prepared to still argue that apple using 3 different suppliers is not an excuse for faulty equipment. It just explains why it is yellow, not justifying it being yellow. Its complete bs anyone has to go through this. Color settings should just be a standard option in the devices.

Hi guys,

as the original poster on this thread I thought i'd keep you updated. I've not returned my iphone for a full refund. After 3 store trips and waiting over 40min even though i had a genius appointment I decided to call it quits. Will hopefully purchase again when all the hype calms down and production steadies. I must admit however that the whole experience has put a sour taste in my mouth regarding apple.
