iPhone 5 AT&T LTE

I live in LTE zone in Queens New York LTE is enabled on my phone and I have not connected once

When it's on LTE, the display SAYS LTE.

When not, it rolls back to 4G, according to the display.

Now, problem is for me, when I enable LTE, it will show it briefly, then show NO SERVICE.

Big, big problem.

Check the AT&T coverage map. Most of the southeast valley in Phoenix, including all of Gilbert, has no 4G LTE service. It has "4G" service, which is the HSPA coverage. To get LTE service, go past Chandler Regional Hospital - nearly every part of Phoenix north and west of there has LTE service. Just not the southeast valley.

It's why I will probably stick with Verizon when I upgrade my phone in a few weeks.

AT&T Labels:

LTE - LTE for voice and data

4G - 4G or AT&T Hybrid

3G - 3G

If you iPhone 5 is showing 4G, call to make sure your plan is LTE Data. Some people did not activate correctly. If it is LTE and your phone is showing 4G, go back to the store.

Have any of you with AT&T LTE issues talked to AT&T? All these sound like problems with either the cellular network or the configurations of the phone. I upgraded an iPhone 4 with AT&T service to an iPhone 5 and it has worked flawlessly. Whenever I am not on WiFi, I have LTE and it is quite fast 15-20 Mbs.

AT&T has enabled LTE in most of the east valley as of 12/15. Im seeing data speeds of 30 Mb/s down and 3 Mb/s up.

I got myself a black iPhone 5 and my white a white one from AT&T.

I live in Brooklyn, NY and has no problem connecting via LTE at home.

I'm having problems connecting via LTE at work in mid-town Manhattan (29th Street to be specific) since I upgraded to iOS 6.1 from 6.0.1

I saw the LTE logo with 3 bars but it won't connect to the internet and email.

I then switch LTE off and was able to connect via 4G.

Contacted AT&T and they said it's a "known issue" and is "working to fix it".

But when???

I don't know if that's an LTE issue per se (I've seen it, too) but rather it seems like their LTE head ends have dubious Internet connectivity.

For now, if you experience this just drop back to 4G (besides, your battery will thank you for it. 😀)

Yeah that's what I do.

I slide back to 4G every time I come into the office.

It's kind of annoying to have to manually do that though.

It is, but I think it's AT&T's issue and they'll need to be the ones to fix it.

I went there today, they gave me a free new sim card and turned my phone off and on, and it magically worked! just go there, i had the same problem as you.
