Can you get rid of the original audio that accompanies a video clip on iPad 2 using iMovie? I have a video clip shot on vacation and would like to just have music play throughout the movie...not hear the wind and back ground noise....I can drop in a song from my library but you still hear all the other noise....

- Double tap the video clip you don't want sound from.
- The "Clip Settings" will pop-up.
- Inside the "Clip Settings" is a volume slider + a ON & OFF switch which controls the audio.
- You can completely turn off the Audio by switching to OFF or reduce the volume with the slider.
For future Projects, you can start a New Project by adding first your Background Song from your Audio Bin, or by turning Theme Songs on in Project Settings. If you do so, starting your project by adding music first, when you add your video clips, they will be automatically muted (audio will be OFF by default in Clip Settings)
When you say "clip settings" do you mean the inspector window?
Is the on and off switch a new feature? I'm running iMovie '11 9.0.9 (1975) and don't see it.
Regarding future projects, I don't see "Project settings" but maybe it's called something else in my old version? Is that the same thing as "project properties?" If so I don't see that option in there either.
I just found one thing that might help others out. If you bring your clip into the top left section, where your project sits and right click the clip, you can detach the audio and then delete it. This works a lot more like Final Cut Pro.
