iOS 6 battery life

My iPhone 4S's battery life has been trash ever since I updated! And also it says I've used it for and hour and a half with any hour 45 standby. But I've barley used it for half an hour! Any idea to why the bad battery life or why the usage is so high?

I too am experiencing VERY poor battery life on my Iphone 4S. I have the same routines as I did prior to the upgrade and now my battery is down to 10% by 1pm. I do use the phone frequently but on the 5.0.1 I used it the same amount and did not see a 10% warning untill 9pm at night. Seriously Apple help us out here. I have also closed all apps the moment I am done with them and also tried turning off Wifi and Bluetooth. The only thing that makes the battery last is to fully turn the phone off. Though I have found it is less useful that way....

Not quite true. I just have turn off ALL location services at the TOP of the general/privacy menu and both my iPads 1& 2 and iPhone 4S are back to normal battery life. As I have posted before, I believe the new map app is causing GPS etc to constantly work the processor. If I want location services, I just turn it on then off when I don't need it. Apple needs to fix the maps/GPS and solve this issue... Everything else on all three devices works as before when location is off completely... Have used a CPU monitor as a "before and after" check and this seems to prove my point. Please comment if you guys agree...

I do not agree. I agree with cspykeThere is no sense at all to have a smart device (Yes, its not just a phone, making phonecalls is number 5 of my list of what I use most on my device) when I have to turn everything off what makes it smart. There is just no excuse for Apple. The same with maps: in switzerland complete useless ... While my patience fades away I squint envious to the Sam*ung Gal*xy my colleague uses :-(

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation with 32GB and ever since the update, I've been having so many problems. I primarily use my iPod for music listening, with the occasional internet browsing, e-mail checking and video watching. I have 15GB worth of music which I spend listening to a majority of the day and my iPod would last me a good two days without charging, sometimes even three, until this IOS 6 update.

The battery life doesn't even last me a whole day now and it's always on standby! Even before IOS 6, I've always turned bluetooth, notifications and location services off because I never needed them. My brightness is always at the lowest level except for when I'm outdoors and I religiously turn off my wi-fi connection when not in use. Using these exact same settings in IOS 6, the battery life is still terrible. For the first time in three years that I've owned this iPod, I woke up this morning with the battery completely drained after a full charge! I'm highly upset because I don't have time to constantly charge it when I'm not at home and I can't go a day without my music. For now, it looks like I will have to use my old iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano until this is fixed and if not, I will not be buying Apple products any longer.

I really hope apple reads this! but I'm afraid they doesn't.

even if iOS 6 was a good OS, and it's not, I don't think upgrading to iPhone 5 is a good idea: I've seen it, I've used it for a wile and nothing new is in there! it looks very nice of course, but it's not a jewel, it's a phone!

moreover I'm italian and you sure know tha we pay, for the iPhone 5, more than the rest of the world because we probably are more stupid than the rest of the world. come on Apple! what are you doing here?

maybe all of you who was an iPhone 3G or 3Gs owner remember how we desired upgrade to iPhone 4, it was really a great step! new design, new hardware, new features, and first of all new retina display.

when iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 came out I didn't have the same feeling. I still have my older iPhone 4. taller screen does not improve anithing!

since iOS 6 has made my iPhone 4 almost useless, I went to an HTC shop.

what we have to wait until we can see some real news in the iPhone? of course not the iPhone 5s...so? the iPhone 6? or 7? 2 or 3 years?

so...1000 euros per year just to buy a square diamond with a glas over a gsm antenna...no thanks, enough to me...
